 Summary of the Position

Ampd Energy is seeking a talented and passionate QA Test engineer contractor to play a central role in assessing our suppliers’ quality and ensuring that our products are delivered free of defects. You will be working closely with our Supply Chain and Engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues, provide technical input and guidance on process enhancements and improvements. You will conduct rigorous tests on products in different stages of the manufacturing process to identify potential areas of failure, recurring manufacturing defects, and lead the Final Acceptance Test of our products at our supplier sites.   

 Beyond strong technical skills, we are specifically looking for individuals who are organised, detail-oriented, process driven, dependable and excited about being among the first in the world to work with game-changing products. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and be a clear, candid and effective communicator in spoken and written English and Mandarin.

 Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and knowledge of parts tolerance analysis
• Familiar with the use of standard electronics and electrical diagnosis tools, including multimeters, current clamp probes, oscilloscopes, ELCB testers, ground loop impedance testers, etc
• Ability to define, write, execute and review hardware/components test plans
• Experience on supervising and/or performing electric/electronic components testing a plus
• Sound knowledge in Quality Management System - Six Sigma Green Belt or higher will be an advantage
• Experience with quality systems, quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, 5S, GRR, SPC, DoE
• Comfortable working in a dynamic organization and fast-paced environment 
• Working proficiency in English and Mandarin. Cantonese will be a plus
• Based in Shenzhen, domestic travel is required (up to 50%)

 Specific duties include:

• Ensure components and suppliers meet both company and applicable international standards
• Monitor and track supplier quality and on-time delivery according to production planning
• Participate in full product lifecycle development. Provide guidance for suppliers (and company engineers) on process development, process improvement, and DOE optimization
• Drive supplier yield improvement and cost down projects and commit to continuous improvement
• Conduct supplier technical visits and line qualification. Partner with procurement and engineering functions for scouting new suppliers achieving quality, cost and delivery
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal partners
• Plan resources then supervise the execution of our Factory Acceptance Test at our supplier site
• Regularly and clearly communicate with Ampd's R&D team trends in component failures, design flaws and problems during execution of tests; provide written feedback and suggestions on design changes to improve product reliability, usability, and performance
