POSITION OBJECTIVE:

 

Project Engineer takes responsibility of successful technical execution of new integrally geared centrifugal compressor contracts, including: reviewing customer and industry specifications, specifying equipment and major components, coordinating, directing, and reviewing the preparation of design documentation, controlling technical changes, providing technical support for fabrication activities, and assisting with general project administration.

 

Working as a secondary customer-contact, Project Engineer does support, work closely with the Project Manager/Design Engineering on all assigned contracts, and must remain cognizant of contract activities, status and schedules.  The individual will communicate with vendors, field sales, and virtually every department within the organization on a wide variety of technical issues.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                               

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Project Engineer with skills and knowledge to have the following responsibilities –

 

• Assist the Product Manager and Application Engineer in the preparation of the Internal Compressor Specification (Order Write-Up) taking care to maintain the necessary discipline to transfer complete definition of the contract’s requirements.

• Attend design review or “kick-off” meetings with the Customer, to clarify and confirm requirements and/or present deviations.

• Review Customer documentation and specifications with great attention to detail.

• Coordinate with Design Groups to ensure that Customer requirements for the contract are being met.

• Specify major contract accessories – i.e., main drive motor or turbine, inlet filter, etc.

• Review customer submittals to ensure that the technical requirements of the contract are being met. 

• Provide supporting information to the Project Manager to determine any price and delivery impacts of customer change orders. 

• Gather technical information from Design Groups and prepare, submit, and negotiate deviations from specifications.

• Organize internal Design Review meetings, and attends customer project meetings, as required.

• Assist the Project Manager and the Quality Department in the handling of customers during inspections, contract review meetings, and performance tests.

• Prepare contract documentation,  including performance test reports and operators manuals

   

   

  QUALIFICATIONS:

   

• Engineering bachelor degree.

• Have related experience of centrifugal compressor, familiar with compressor system.

• Related experience of manufacture/operation is preferred.

• Familiarity with 3D design software, like UG/Teamcenter.

• Project Management Certification is prefer

• Successful experience on new centrifugal compressor development.

• Good communication skills

• Good oral/writing/reading English.
