The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering organization has an exciting opportunity available as a senior Test Engineer responsible for equipment development of electromechanical products within Honeywell’s elite Sensing & Controls division. This individual will have the lead responsibility to develop new equipment and support existing equipment for electromechanical products at internal and supplier sites. The ideal applicant would have a vast knowledge of calibration, measurement and automation equipment development, such as equipment software, electrical system development, developing process, project management skills. LabVIEW development engineer certificate (CLD) required. Mechanical knowledge preferred. Global manufacturing experience is desired and limited International travel is required.
Description (Please list 5~8 job responsibilities)
· LabVIEW software development and maintenance o Communicate with customer to generate software requirements o Familiar with common LabVIEW programming structure, status machine/event structure/producer, etc. o Familiar with common communication protocols programming, serial port/parallel port/I2C/CAN, etc. o Familiar with common instrument driver programming, DMM/Power Supply/NI DAQ/Pressure Controller etc. o Common database handling, access/SQL/MySQL etc. Communicate with cross-function team (including design, Process, ME, Quality, Production line, Safety, TPM) for requirement package If in-house customized equipment development, o solution design, cooperate with Mechanical engineer o electrical design o LabVIEW software design o Design review with cross team o Fabricate and purchase components o Assembly o Project schedule management If outsourcing customized equipment development, mainly project management, including: o Get quotation of solution and cost from suppliers with sourcing team o Mechanical, Electrical, software design, safety, maintenance review with cross-function team o Evaluate supplier with cross-function team, including sourcing and select supplier o Manage development progress to meet schedule, prepare samples for equipment verification o Pre-buyoff in supplier site · Setup, debug, verify system in Honeywell plant after delivery · Equipment buyoff and document archive · Gather lessons learned inputs from across factory manufacturing teams · Utilize electrical expertise and six sigma tools (e.g. DOE’s) to lead customized equipment development for NPI projects · equipment qualification analysis, MSA · Ensure tasks are delivered on time; meet financial, performance, quality and reliability goals Performance Metrics: Machine robust and Testing FPY meet 95%. Project release on time & lower cost& High Utilization Qualifications and Skills (Education, Experience, Industry/Functional Knowledge, Computer, Communication, Leadership, Behavior, etc.): · A Bachelor degree in software, computer, information or electrical engineering, or similar field is required; graduate degree is preferred. · At least 5 years of experience in equipment development, at least 1 year project management is preferred. · Experience with high volume manufacturing and new product introduction. Direct experience in launching products is required. · Familiar with six sigma tools, especially GRR, Cpk, Correlation, cycle time, DFMEA, DOE, etc. · Familiar with measurement equipment and automation equipment general solutions · Familiar with equipment cost evaluation · Familiar with electrical noise interference principle and normal solving solutions · Familiar with Access, SQL and MySQL Database development by LabVIEW · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and variables. · Global manufacturing experience working with multiple locations is highly desired. · Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments · Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in a team environment demonstrating influence across many functions · Results focused with successful record of accomplishments through skilled use of influence, persuasion, negotiation, and problem resolution. · Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified. Black belt or Lean certification desirable · Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
