POSITION SUMMARY

Purpose :
The Engineering Development Program is Air Products’ graduate training and development program.  Its purpose is to develop Air Products’ future engineers, managers and leaders by providing opportunities for fresh graduates (EDP engineers) to learn the Company’s business, products, technologies and operating methods in their early careers through a series of rotational assignments.

Nature and Scope:
The EDP engineer will fulfill 3 x 8 months operational/technical based assignments in different production departments within plant shift operation, process, mechanical / instrument & control / electrical maintenance, plant project management, maintenance reliability, plant turnaround (TAR) planning etc. rotation. The locations for these assignments are Guang Zhou, Nanjing, Tianjin, Dalian and Shanghai or other cities in China.
Every EDP engineer is assigned a senior manager as a mentor to guide and advise them as they progress through the program.
For each assignment, the specific learning, project-related objectives and job description will be discussed, agreed and commented at the beginning between EDP and the assignment manager. The emphasis for each assignment will be on-the-job training.

Principal Accountabilities:
1.Work in plant ops team, taking role as operator to learn and perform ASU plant day to day operation duties.  While for the small GG sites, to work in OSC for remote plant operation and monitoring and process optimization and seek improvement targeting on operation efficiency improvement and cost down.
2.Work in maintenance team taking engineer role, study AP maintenance work process, basic skills and procedures, to perform as maintenance engineer duties in compliance of company’s EHS standard and safety requirements.
3.Be familiar with all equipment in plant, maintain all mechanical, instrument, electrical equipment accurate documents integrity and equipment history database reachable.
4.Provide hand-on technical skills at the troubleshooting and all related maintenance work or supporting work responsible.
5.Perform preventive maintenance work and support to implement MI work ,such as SAP PM01-03 tasks, troubleshooting ,repair for all responsibly equipment.
6.Provide safety supervision to contractor’s work in the facility or shop to ensure work safety and quality.
7.Participate in plant TAR planning and execution, be member supporting TAR activities such as job pack preparation, JSA, safety management plan, contractor supervision, spare part list review, job acceptance, and so on.
8.Taking role as project engineer to develop project scope, estimate, project cost and benefit, develop capital expenditure authorization document and propose appropriate execution strategy for best fit with resources and benefits case.  Execute projects with small GO teams or as part of a larger GEM capital project team.  Execute project work to the defined budget and agreed schedule.
9.Taking role of TAR planner to organize IG China ops plant TAR planning and TAR execution.
10.The EDP engineer is encouraged to seek advice, coaching and support from their colleagues.
11.At the end of the rotations, each EDP will have the opportunity to assume a fulltime role as designated position by the hiring department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
1.Excellent attitude to take on hand-on job and would learn practice skill at site besides of function knowledge in paper.
2.Enjoy day and night shift work since it is the best learning time.
3.Recent postgraduate, with bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or other various technical disciplines.  
4.Intern experience in engineering program/project is preferred.
5.Excellent English skills, both written and oral; skillful in use of PC software tools.
6.Open, proactive and willing to learn mindset.
7.Learning and Practice travel will be required. Most travel will be in China mainland but might not be limited if you could learn quickly and take ownership & responsibility individually.
