Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization

This incumbent, reporting directly to Senior Legal Counsel, will act as independent legal advisor in relation to any and all kinds of legal matters and issues which may occur in the operations of sales, Retail and e-commerce department in aChina.

Key Responsibilities

Autonomously, performing legal services for his / her internal clients in China, including: drafting, negotiation and reviewing of a variety of legal documents & contracts; providing legal support & advice for company’s daily business and operations, ensuring legal feasibility and legal compliance of the business initiatives, training in legal awareness, etc.

Participating in company’s projects and assistance in the commercial transactions in China if any as assigned by the management.

Leading and coordinating the actions in the company for sales, retail / ecommerce related legal proceedings & maintaining contacts and coordination with external counsel in such proceedings.

Communicating with management, specialists in the home office in Germany and third parties to facilitate day-to-day work and planning related to Sales, Retail / Ecommerce.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Graduate of a recognized law school either in China or abroad and admitted as a member of the legal profession in China or abroad, with at least 3 years experience either in the legal department of a multinational corporation or a law firm with an international practice.

Experience in wholesale business and FMCG, sports company or retail industry.

Good knowledge of the Chinese legal system and the main laws, i.e. company laws, competition laws, etc., judicial system and experience in dealing with litigation cases in arbitration and courts.

Must be willing to participate in a team oriented, consensus-building environment. Have potential of managerial skills.

Must be fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading and writing). Have good communication skills.

Must be self-motivated and responsive.
