Job Outline:

This role is responsible for teaching Chinese Culture Courses, writing/editing textbooks, designing curriculums, organizing field trips, making assessment systems, etc. The role holder is also expected to do research on pedagogical issues related to teaching Chinese culture in order to improve the curriculums and enhance the quality of the courses.

Qualifications

Essential (Level 3)

• Master degree in philosophy , history, politics or related discipline of social science;
• CET 6 or equivalent;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in Chinese and English(please upload bilingual CV in application);
• Courseware production, IT skills in software application;
• Experience of relevant teaching work;
• Ability of research and innovation;
• Excellent team work ability;
• Strong problem solving skills;
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.

Desirable (Level 4)

• Doctor degree;
• Applicants with professional qualification are preferable;
• Ability to deliver lecture in English;
• Experience of instructing teaching and compiling textbook;
• Ability to lead the teaching team to develop of the course program;
• Obtained the relevant teaching award;
• Experience of relevant teaching management work;
• Applicants with published articles or research projects are preferable;
• Applicants obtained The People’s Republic of China Teacher Certification (Qualification for a teacher in an institution of high learning) are preferable;
• A strong desire to achieve teaching and research excellence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach Chinese Culture Courses;
• Teaching management work, e.g. development of the course program, rules and student handbooks etc.
• Build subject (including compiling textbook, building featured-courses, etc.);
• Plan, organize and manage course-related social practice;
• Department-related administrative work
• Participate in project research of CRSFU;
• Research and explore teaching methods;
• Lecture on national policy and situations;
• Participate in training and staff development schemes as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
• Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
• Deal with party affairs;
• Other responsibilities as assigned, e.g. admissions, invigilation, etc.;
• Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate to the role.

For Level 4 only:

• Provide leadership in teaching that contributes to improving the department’s teaching quality;
• Lead and guide the teaching management team;
• Lead the team to carry out curriculum construction and development;
• Provide internal and external reporting about courses and government reports;
• Lead the development of new research projects and strengthen external research networks for the department;
• Contribute to proposals in relation to the overall development and strategy of the department.
