Purpose:
To continue the progress made on the BG ambition of Best in Sound, by bridging the resource gap in home audio development。

Responsibilities:
1) Responsible for sound in home audio system development projects in close cooperation with Sound & Acoustics architects, Marketing, Design, other technical functions, and the project team.

2) Carry out feasibility studies on new products, define and validate sound performance target, assist specialists in acoustic architecture and key component specification, define critical to quality parameters, and create a realistic development plan.

3) Supervise and support the development engineers for new product development, ensure products meet product specification, cost and time targets, according to the development plan.

4) Drive ODM supplier to meet the performance and cost requirements.

5) Ensure product quality meets with Philips’ standards, and complies with the documentation structure, and design rules requirements.

6) Training and participation in the internal expert listening panel.

7) Train and coach engineers within the Innovation and Development community to achieve high levels of technical competence in sound.

8) Assist line manager in improving the sound quality process and deploy within the Innovation and Development community.

9) Support the marketing team in technical documentation and demonstrations.

10) Ensure that the company resources, including human, facility and capital equipment are utilized effectively when carrying out the above tasks.

Requirements:
a) Education: PHD or Master degree in Acoustical Engineering and/or Sound Processing (Electrical, Mechanical degrees can also be considered)

b) Experience: More than 5 years working experience in audio architecture and processing for consumer electronics products

c) Competency and Skills:
· A passion for music and sound.
· A confirmed knowledge and experience in electroacoustics and audio electronics.
· Fluent in acoustic design and measurement tools.
· Solid critical listening skills.
· Strong leadership capabilities.
· Excellent English and Mandarin, Cantonese beneficial.
· Ownership of your projects with strong communication skills.
· Used to working towards innovative yet cost-effective technical solutions.
· Creativity.
· Consumer-oriented.
· Experience with China ODM suppliers is advantageous.
