GENERAL SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this job is to grow sales through various proactive selling techniques.  The incumbent must obtain market intelligence with respect to pricing needed to win orders and make decisions based on company margin rules.  The incumbent works closely with Regional Sales Managers, manufacturers’ representatives, select contractors and end users.  The incumbent coordinates with sales management to develop and implement sales marketing plans and sales promotions.  This position also assists in meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals for HVAC.  Success in this role requires strong communication, customer service, presentation and planning skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement innovative approaches to meeting internal and external customer requests.  The successful incumbent must effectively manage a challenging workload while preparing for an eventual field sales role.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

·         Assist HVAC Regional Sales Managers in driving sales, supporting reps and internal pipeline management

·         Assist in identifying small contractors for regional bids

·         Provide training to new and existing reps

·         Support channel expansion for HVAC products

·         Responsible for assigned region and specific assigned accounts

·         Actively pursue key/strategic accounts in hopes of developing into account status

·         Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application

·         Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users

·         Work with the cross-functional sales team to maximize sales in the given accounts

·         Establish relationships to move vertically and horizontally within an account

·         Serve as product expert being able to solve routine product/systems issues

·         Evaluate needs of the customer and provide technical solutions that best fit the Company’s product portfolio

·         Contact and meet with customers to discuss all aspects of proposals and close opportunities

·         Meet territory sales and standard margin goals

·         Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing existing projects

·         Solicit and analyze customer feedback for product performance and value

·         Develop competitive analyses and strategic positioning plans for each account

·         Provide expert product knowledge across all Evaporative Cooling product lines

·         Build cross-functional relationships externally and internally to support accounts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·   Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or another technical field

·   5+ years of experience

·   Cooling tower experience preferred

·   Rep management experience preferred

SKILLS:

·   Strong negotiation skills

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office

·   Willingness to travel at least 33 percent of the time
