MAJOR DUTIES AND RESULTS:

    

1. Conducting/monitoring the following;
2. Induction courses,
3. Tool-box talks,
4. "Stand-up" safety meetings,
5. Supervisory safety awareness/training courses,
6. Fire training.
7. Liaise/assist local government authorities, when requested to do so.
8. Liaise/assist the Safety/Security Manager, when requested to do so
9. Monitor the site traffic control plan.
10. Assist with the coordination of "Emergency Procedures" practice drills.
11. Participate in the site safety inspection patrols, completing inspection reports and coordinate necessary following-up actions.
12. Check all plant/equipment and tool certifications, including Subcontractors "Planned Maintenance Inspection Program" and site color coding requirements.
13. Review lifting plan prepared by subcontractor and supervision of all lifting works. Also inspect all lifting equipment in accordance with “lifting work procedure”
14. Monitor the safe use of "Hazardous Substances".
15. Check correct PPE compliance being worn on site.
16. Check Statutory requirements, such as;
17. Crane test certificates/thorough examinations,
18. Scaffold inspections,
19. Pontoons, hoists and lifting tackle, etc.
20. Oversee compliance for "hazardous activity" method statements.
21. Attend the following meetings, (when requested to do so).
22. Site Safety Committee,
23. Preconstruction, (subcontractor)
24. Client and other ad-hoc meetings, as required, giving advice and making improvement recommendations.
25. Investigate/follow-up accidents, incidents and near-miss occurrences and assist with writing reports and issuing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
26. Oversee site "housekeeping" and the general good appearance of the site, (including welfare facilities).
27. Check the condition of safety signs/posters that are displayed/erected throughout the construction site.
28. Ensure Subcontractor compliance to all Government, Client and JGC's SHES rules/regulations, and if necessary, suspend/stop illegal or dangerous practices.
29. Organize/direct safety supervisors under his control, delegating tasks and areas of control.
30. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly inspection plan in accordance with Client or local rules and regulation.
31. Conduct daily, weekly or monthly inspection of construction equipment / scaffolding coordinating with Client, subcontractors or the other parties involved in the project in accordance with inspection plan.
32. Organize daily, weekly or monthly rap up meeting with all participants and prepare report to submit management.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

    

• Advanced degree (in engineering) from four year college or university, with more than two years of related experience, or undergraduate degree with two to four years of related experience.
• Possess certain degree of license for construction equipment in accordance with Client standard or local rules and regulation of in country.
