BASIC FUNCTION

Under the collaborative direction of Senior Manager, Transportation & Logistics, the Senior Logistics Specialist/Supervisor will assist the Senior Manger of TNL with transportation vendor management, RFQ conduction and implementation, coordination with internal clients for transportation services, and customs compliance; meanwhile, the candidate will be responsible for support and direct subordinates in daily freight management and operations;

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Transportation (80% Workload)

Prepare, lead, support and follow up RFQ for international and domestic transportation services

· Create and track Freight Metrics and reports on regular basis.

· Analyze transportation activity and freight expenses. This includes financial information, operational budge preparation, initiative tracking, performance scorecards and delivery execution

· Challenge current structure and network based on analysis conducted above -mentioned

· Manage service providers

· Provides back up for managing IT Project portfolio and ensuring appropriate tracking of project requests, timelines and budgets are updated.

· Direct and support subordinates in daily operations of freight and shipment management

· Support plant and country or regional logistics activities as directed

Compliance (10% Workload)

Responsible for Denied Party List Management

Monitoring governmental policies and market directions regarding customs compliance

Administration (10% Workload)

· Manage, coach and develop subordinates

· Support potential team based on the assigned tasks

· Perform other tasks assigned by the manager.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:

· Directly reports to Sr. Manager, Transportation and Logistics, AP

· Manages Logistics Specialist - Transportation

Internal Organization Relationships:

· Daily contact with logistics teams of different units in Asia Pacific

· Frequent contact with business unit Supply Chain organizations

· Frequent contact with Information Technology departments

· Frequent contact with Global Procurement and Business Unit Purchasing organizations

· Frequent contact with all US and Europe Transportation and Logistics Teams

· Frequent contact with Accounts payable department

· Frequent contact with corporate compliance team and country/plant compliance counter partners.

· Periodic contact with legal department

· Periodic contact with various accounting departments

External Business Relationships:

· Frequent contact with all modes of transportation vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· University degree or college graduated, majoring in Logistics/Supply Chain is preferred.

· 5+ years related experience in multinational environment.

· Executes assignments of a straightforward nature, requiring awareness of Kohler operations and transport industry basis.

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills

· Profound business sense and persistent working style

· Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is required.

· Good communication skills, passionate and good working attitude.

· Experience in a multi-national company with manufacture background is a MUST

· Experience in a 3PL is a Plus
