POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
To achieve the stretch goal of P&C in following 5 years, we will have more of sales resource to strengthen our sales coverage in PUC China. Conduct direct selling at key accounts, and manage channel to expand new opportunities as identified by the business. Develop new product sales in the defined sub-segments to grow our share profitably.
Nature and Scope
The candidate is an integral part of China sales team of Polyurethane Chemical part of Performance Material Division. The incumbent will be the key sales professional to interface with customers to conduct direct selling effort to meet the financial and volume target as set by the business.
The incumbent will take guidance from the China Sales Manager on the sales process (How) and direction / strategy from the business area (What).
One critical prerequisite of value selling is to provide technical solution to customers (direct and distributor’s accounts). The incumbent is expected to provide first level of technical support, product introduction and also orchestrate interfaces with internal functional at all levels to solve customer problems.
New product development is also an important part of the job responsibility. The incumbent is able to acquire customer’s specification and identify their needs, and orchestrate the resources to win and retention the customers.
Providing market intelligence to the Business and management is critical; the incumbent will be required to provide timely and regular feedback and input to the team regarding competition, industry dynamics and also key customer activities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Develop key account plans within the assigned territory.
2. Develop and implement Operating Plan jointly with the Sales Manager to achieve the target as agreed with the business line.
3. Delivery of the sales budget.
4. Management of direct key accounts, agent and distributors. Acquire and maintain effective and successful relationships with customers.
5. Identify the resources (technology, supply chain, marketing etc) required to support the sales within his region.
6. Submit sales forecast and sales plan to support the business line strategy.
7. Submit timely contact reports. Communicate market/competition information and regular account updates.
8. Provide first level of sales and technical support to customer and distributor
9. Support product promotional activities i.e. trade shows/exhibitions, advertisements etc.
10. Perform other relevant responsibilities assigned as new opportunities arise.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
a. Chemical / Chem engineering degree graduate.
b. Working experience in PU area for at least 7 years, preferably working for Multi-national company
c. Willing to travel at least 70% of their working day within appointed territory
d. Good spoken and writing English standard
e. Able to work under minimum supervision with self motivation
