Job Summary:

This is a technical role within Cepheid global supply chain organization and specifically within supplier development group. The individual in this role will be interfacing with Plastics Injection molding suppliers and internal teams such as engineering, operations, and quality. The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with experience in Injection molding (preferably Tooling) as well as possess soft skills to effectively collaborate with multiple functions and business acumen to understand the financial impact of improvement projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Evaluate technical capabilities at supplier sites and qualify suppliers based on selection criteria

· Provide input and update internal supplier selection and qualification processes

· Identify, quantify, prioritize, and drive supplier improvement projects

· Use data analytics to make recommendations and drive VAVE projects (Quality, Cost, Productivity)

· Responsible for reviewing tool health, spares, and making recommendations on required repairs/refurbishment

· Establish, track, and trend key supplier performance metrics - OEE, FPY, Tool Availability and SPC

· Understand and represent supplier capabilities to engineering teams during program design changes / development

· Review, initiate, and represent supplier recommended design changes to internal engineering teams while also executing Engineering change orders to suppliers

· Responsible for training suppliers on Cepheid protocols & knowledge transfer

· Develop and execute qualification protocols with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams

· Characterize existing processes, establish controls for critical parameters, improve process robustness and yield

· Establish uninterrupted and efficient flow of plastics / consumables utilizing dock-to-stock & vendor managed inventory

· Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to provide technical support on supplier quality issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

？ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant field) with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of related work experience

？ Demonstrated technical and analytical ability with high degree of professional acumen

？ Strong / Concise verbal and written communication skills

？ Demonstrated experience with equipment selection, operation, and processing

？ Demonstrated experience with high volume manufacturing processes - injection molding

？ Familiar with 6 step studies / DOE / Process window development

？ Demonstrated experience with Injection molding process and controls

？ Familiar with ISO and GMPMD requirements

？ Experienced and comfortable with executive level presentations (.ppt / “elevator pitches”)

？ Basic Understanding of Metrology concepts - GRnR, equivalency, etc.

？ Proficient in MS Office

？ Must be willing and able to travel to supplier locations – primarily regionally located
