Job Title

Manager, Internal Controls & Compliance, China

Purpose / Summary

The internal Audit manager is participating to internal audit projects in all Schneider Electric entities in China and HongKong.

He/she is an active member of the Global and Regional Internal Audit and Internal Control Network.

Objectives /

Essential Functions

He/she is acting, under the supervision of the Director of China Internal Control & Internal Audit, in the frame of the Internal Audit and Internal Control programme, in the entities of his/her territory, or at the regional level, in line with the requirements of Global Internal Audit and Internal Control.

1. For the internal audit missions, he/she is to (60% efforts):

- Play as or Assist team leader to perform risk assessment during planning stage to identify high risk area;

- Play as or Assist team leader to define the working program related to the missions

- Execute audit missions through analytics, interviews, examination, reconciliation and other audit techniques;

- Participate in closing meeting and present the audit findings/reports to audit sponsors and senior management;

- propose valid and practical recommendations to correct inefficiencies or improve efficiency

- Ensure proper documentation

2. During the annual internal control self assessment campaigns, he/she is working with managers to (20% efforts):

- analyse the consolidate results at Country’s level in order to identify:

§ and analyse discrepancies or abnormal variances in spectrum of answers,

§ recurrent issues needing a country’s or region’s action plan,

§ good practices that could be spread, and spread them,

- reporting results of those analysis for the relating Business Internal Controllers for them to implement challenge and action where needed.

3. Participate in Regional or Global Internal Audit missions as requested (20% efforts)

Working Environment

Internal Audit Manager will travel in his/her territory approximately 30% of his/her time, depending on mission requirements

He/She will have to work in various cultural environments.

Fluency in English and Chinese is mandatory being the working oral and written language. French will be a plus

Organizational Reporting

The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Director of China Internal Control & Internal Audit, who reports to Global Internal Audit and Internal Control with a dotted line reporting to Schneider China CFO.

Internal Relationships

The Internal Audit Manager will have contact with:

- all levels of the organization in his/her territory,

- all levels of Corporate and Regional Internal Controls and Internal Audit

- Global Internal Control/Audit network

- Functional Internal Control owners.

External Relationships

The Internal Audit Manager may have contact with external auditors.

Profile / Competencies

Technical Skills

- Strong auditing, analytical and risk assessment skills

- Good understanding of internal control systems (COSO)

Education required

Undergraduate degree from top university

All undergraduate majors considered, Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred

Certified Public Accountant preferred but not mandatory

Experience required

7-10 years experience in Internal Audit or Big 4 experience. Equivalent role within operational or financial functions with broad view of business processes within MNCs.
