职位描述
Basic Responsibilities
1. Provides and supports front-line technical customer interface for program/product.
2. Manages the design and processes for a specific project, program or product line to meet current and future needs.
3. Develops the technical skills and knowledge and provides technical direction of the engineers and designers on the team.
4. Supports technical leadership.
5. Supports core members of the SDT.
6. Provides solutions to meet all technical issues and works with team to ensure time and cost objectives are met.
7. Understands and identifies the resource requirements to meet program/product objectives.
8. Implements and facilitates the use of best practices in engineering.
9. Supports the program/product engineering budget.
10. Capable of communicating effectively with management.
Technical Responsibilities:
1. Supports technical design reviews monthly/as necessary. Provides input to the technical design review report.
2. Applies best practices in creating detail drawings and assembly drawings. Ensures that the customer's environment drawings are kept up to date and that no packaging or interference problems exist in the drawings/data.
3. Facilitates, develops and implements best practices in design and engineering. This includes, but is not limited to PDfSS, drawing standards, FEA, GD&T, root cause analysis, DVP, DFMEA, hand calculations and use of carry-over and CPP technology.
4. Executes robust design/design changes to provide the highest quality in the build and assembly of prototype parts with the agreed-to process. Personally ensures that the design and engineering data is released on-time to ensure the highest quality assemblies for testing and the customer delivery.
5. Leads root cause analysis in the resolution of any test failures. Reviews the analysis with the appropriate engineering management resources to resolve any particularly difficult problems. Ensures the appropriate management teams are aware of any potential safety concern.
6. Generates optimized DVP&R with appropriate support groups ensuring the minimum number of prototypes are being tested and the best choice of reliability techniques are used to determine test duration, number of samples and types of tests.
7. Generates DFMEAs prior to release of prototype tooling.
8. Reviews and directs FEA/analysis/testing prior to finalizing concept, release of prototype tooling and release of production tooling to ensure design meets desired criteria/specifications.
9. Supports development of technical solutions to define and meet business objectives (cost, performance, timing, weight and investment).
10. Executes best practices and early detection for BSR, generates BSR roadmaps to meet program/product initiatives.
11. Uses the right tool/technology for providing technical solution to program/product issues.
12. Is aware of advancing technology and implements as appropriate.
13. Executes other assignments as directed.
Administrative Responsibilities
1. Facilitates and recommends necessary or required training for engineers, designers and support personnel for all basic technical skill requirements.
2. Supports development of and meets the agreed-to budget for the product. Ensures proper PD2 documents are developed and approved prior to the commencement of development and spending of monies. Ensures customer scope changes are documented, budgeted and approved prior to commencement of activity.
3. Executes and supports all JCI strategic direction/initiatives and systems including PDfSS, CPP, PLUS, off-shore design, etc.
4. Provides input to management for implementation of career planning and personal development of program/product staff.
5. Provides input and/or conducts annual performance reviews for program/product staff. Ensures required performance reviews are completed on time.
6. Supports the program/product team in resolving customer technical issues.
Performance Measures
1. Performance to project/product plan.
2. Performance to budget.
3. Improvements in engineering productivity.
4. Quality and value of applied engineering technology (as measured by business units).
5. Direction and execution of strategic actions and development of engineering technologies.
6. Other strategic initiatives as defined.
7. Testing first time right.

1. Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
2. 7+ years in engineering and 2 years in a staff engineering role
