This position will report directly to the APAC FSE Director.
The Avionics Field Service Engineer - (AVIONICS-FSE) will provide on-site support to selected customers on receipt of Honeywell Avionics (Satcom) Systems. The role being to assist customers (Airlines, Channel Partners, Integrators) during all stages of operation and ; delivering informal training on Honeywell equipment, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance on Honeywell products, acting as a conduit between Honeywell and the Airline ,Channel Partners, Integrators as well as interacting with and supporting the aircraft manufacturer. The nature of the role requires knowledge of both Avionics and Satcom products and systems, a greater emphasis on Satcom products is preferred.
This role will also include support and liaison with aircraft manufactures plus system integrators in the APAC region. The candidate is expected to be flexible in the role, in addition to Avionics deployments the candidate should be willing to cover short duration support requirements on an as required basis. Up to 50% travel may be required.
During periods between Avionics deployments the candidate will be expected to support the regional Aerospace Technical Support organisation, providing technical assistance to internal and external customers.
Due to the nature of the role, a high degree of flexibility and self-motivation is required as is the ability to work and act independently
Responsibilities of the Avionics FSE will include, but may not be limited to:
- Providing Avionics support to Aerospace customers primarily but not exclusively in the APAC region.
- Providing support/liaison to aircraft manufactures in the APAC region
- Provide coverage/support to the regional ATS organisation
- Support for new installations and programs
- Develop relationship within the Customer and Product Support organization
- Support monitoring of Honeywell product reliability
- Ability to travel at short notice to support aircraft on ground
- Support activities relating to business growth and opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical fields; In lieu of degree, minimum 10 years’ experience supporting customers and/or products will be considered.
Additional desirable qualifications:
- Customer interface experience highly desirable
- Thorough knowledge of Satcom Communications and electrical/Avionics equipment/systems, and system software installed on aircraft
- Proven track record in meeting customer commitments and resolving customer concerns in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform in a highly visible technical leadership role and establish credibility, maintaining strong customer relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to positively influence others and work well within the team environment.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Strong Interpersonal skills with ability to work independently.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Exhibits sound independent judgment in assessing priorities, needs and problem resolution.
- Experience in minimizing defects and enhancing process improvements using Six Sigma tools
- Significant experience in Avionics maintenance and support
- Flight tests experience and Avionics had some level of involvement with the development of products/systems
- Proven track record in demonstrating customer satisfaction skills with high visibility customers; ability to establish credibility and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to learn and use customer management and knowledge management tools.
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of management within the corporation and customer base.
- Ability to work non-standard hours (weekends and holidays) as needed.
- Significant experience in Airline/Air Transport industry and tertiary qualifications in aircraft maintenance and
troubleshooting
- Direct experience in aerospace customer support team is highly desired
- Broad aerospace product knowledge is desirable. Thorough knowledge of "All Systems" installed on AT&R platforms
- Good verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin
