Waters China application team is primarily responsible for technical support in Great China.  As an integral part of this team, the role of an Sr. Application Chemist is to provide technical support, handle key collaboration and application projects for key thought leaders, develop application examples that best highlight Waters solutions.   Waters is actively seeking a motivated individual as our Sr. Application Chemist with Biopharmaceutical focus.  He/She will work closely with marketing and sales team to drive the technology adoption by markets and make contribution to Great China business growth.

• Diagnoses complex technical issues, determines causes and effect relationships, and provides recommendations on a variety of diverse problems.
• Evaluate identifiable factors to assist in the analysis of data. Independently selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has the ability to consider longer term impacts of decisions.
• Apply deep and advanced knowledge, support, analysis or design in an area relating to specific sciences and technologies
• Regularly acts as consultant to managers to solve problems and identify new opportunities.
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise. Has the ability to teach a variety of technical concepts.
• May supervise lower level technical employees.

• Typically requires a postsecondary degree related to a field in science or technology
• At least 3-5 years hands on experience in Biopharmaceutical area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate excellent technical competence, able to solve relative complex application problems with consistent customer feedback.  
• Strong verbal and written communication skill in both Chinese and English required.
• Demonstrate ability to organize and manage collaborations with cross functional team as well as in matrix environment
• Previous project management experience preferred
• Previous chromatography and mass spectrometry experience preferred
