GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

• The Software Development Engineer will work in embedded software development Scrum team on specific software backlogs defined per product and software architects/features needs.
• The position will be responsible to design firmware codes according tasks and schedules agreed with good quality on wireless connected LED lamps.
• This position will report to the R&D Group Manager Software in Shanghai. Work closely with Scrum team members and others including Architects, Hardware and System I&V.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Understand system and software requirements, jointly define software feature building blocks according to platform availability.
• Jointly define sprint planning and deliver according to plans to meet Product Development Process schedules,following embedded software process using best practices and tools.
• Plan, develop, debug, test, release responsible tasks in scrum team following cadence
• Learn and adopt continuous improvement mindset to pursue operational excellence to deliver software on time with world class quality.
• Closely work with hardware engineers in building blocks verification and driver firmware release.
• Closely work with software test engineers, system test engineers in test case definition and bug fixing.
• Closely with software architect (Product owner) in architecture fulfilment.
• Work with global embedded software development team on common code base, platforms and common building blocks, and roadmap.
• Take care of toolset, methodology and technology in wireless connected embedded software domain to secure product advantage and software quality.

KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor or Master of software or electrical engineering, 2+ years’ experience on software and embedded software development (both junior and senior profiles will be considered).
• Strong programming knowledge and skills in C/C++ language
• Knowledge of Microcontroller (MCU) & embedded operating system FreeRTOS
• Experience in software unit testing (Cunit, Nunit), test case design and test plan creation.
• Skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and clear communication.
• Configuration tool usage on SVN, GIT.
• Plus, experience in Wi-Fi/Zigbee/Bluetooth Low Energy network stack, TCP/IP.
• Plus, skills sets on design tool – enterprise architect; modeling language – UML.
• Plus, wireless connected product & lighting control system experiences.
• Plus, competence and experience with Scrum / Agile development, a good team player.
• Plus, Fluent in English.
