Position Summary

As a Data Scientist, you will need to be involved in data-hub building process of Essilor group as well as our partnered companies. Build data solution and matrix to feed our performance-measurement and analytic applications. These applications will help Essilor group optimize the marketing investment, improve quality of our digital business, enlarge our brands’ consumer data pool and retention rate.

Main Responsbilities

Dataset preparation/data quality validation: Assist the database building process of Essilor group, help to enhance data structure and validate existing data’s quality throughout all small projects.

Manage and analyze large data sets: including Marketing data, Ecommerce operation data, Product data, Market competitor data, Consumer behavior and demographic data sets. Using advanced analytics tools to pro-actively identifying growth opportunities. From Essilor group perspective and ensure all our marketing activities meet KPIs. Provide insight from a data science perspective, removing obstacles and taking ownership to find creative solutions.

Programming & Modeling: Create efficient and reusable code to manipulate and analyze data. Help to build Statistical Modeling and diagnose, validate and improve the performance of the models. Build up multiple dimensions of reports which are user friendly to end readers.

Interpretation and communication of findings: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on analytic data processing. Closely work with Ecommerce/IT/Finance team to ensure data set well organized and cover enough user needs. Be able to resenting and communicating results to influence senior stakeholders, prove the result to senior stakeholders and try to apply these findings to partner companies. 

Requirements

At least 2-3 years of analytic programming experience, preferably in consumer goods industry.

Ability to assess technical challenges and program solutions, and solve complex problems

Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in taking on multiple projects

Strong experience of using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

Experience of coding in data manipulation and analysis using Python, SQL and/or SAS

Experience of using Cloud to perform large scale calculations, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.

Experience in handling large and distributed datasets on Spark, Hadoop, Hive or Storm, etc.

Bachelor’s degree above (Information, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, IT, or Computer Science majors preferred)

Strong written English and oral communication skills

40% Travel would be required
