Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the entire end-to-end claims handling process reference to Logistics Liability, Marine Cargo and Property & Casualty, etc. in conjunction with the corporate’s Insurance Programme.

• Initiate and complete thorough investigation of the circumstances of the incident and service irregularities to collect accurate related information and documentations, evaluate and assess the extent of damage sustained and root cause, etc.

• Engage with and influence both internal and external stakeholders e.g. surveyors, loss adjustors and lawyers, etc. to gather insights and facilitate deliverables.

• Pursue robust recovery action against the potential third liable parties, e.g. airlines, rail carriers, road haulers and other subcontractors, etc. in conjunction with other key stakeholders.

• Present settlement proposal to management with comprehensive advice on validity of claims, extent of damage, recovery status.

• Maintain standard claims database and reports for monitoring and benchmarking all claim activity.

• Build, lead, organize and manage a Claims Management team in accordance with corporate risk management strategic plans.

• Create, develop and implement efficient claims handling policy and process in accordance with corporate risk management strategic plans as well as business needs.
• Manage service quality and KPI monitoring including services provided by external parties, e.g. surveyors, loss adjustors, lawyers and insurers, etc.

• Make recommendations to business groups’ management on operational improvements which will lead to lower claims exposures.
• Develop awareness and promote the commercial value of claims management services and the impact on the business groups’ bottom line.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Legal or other closely related field

• 10+ years’ experience in claims handling or loss adjusting within Logistics, Supply Chain and / or Insurance (particularly reference to marine cargo and / or logistics liability) industry, of which at least 5 years has been within a leadership capacity

• Proven management expertise to build and lead a professional claims team
• Knowledge of the Logistics and / or Supply Chain business

• Ability to collaborate and network effectively within a demanding culturally diverse matrix organization

• Experience of articulating, influencing and presenting claims resolutions to multiple stakeholders

• Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude
• Concise and clear communication when presenting and explaining results and findings
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin
