SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:



Analyzes,
designs, programs, debugs and modifies software; Troubleshoots code for
firmware (IC embedded code) applications. Involves analog and digital hardware
and software operating systems; And performs moderately complex product design, system analysis and
programming activities, which may require extensive research.






·
Develops control algorithm of
position loop, velocity loop and current loop for AC servo drives. Responsibilities include development of new motion
control algorithms, authoring of technical specifications, and resolution of
anomalies found by the Verification & Validation testing team.



·
Researches new motion control
technologies and new firmware technologies to support servo product
development.



·
Develops communication network
protocols for AC servo drives.
Responsibilities include development of new communication protocols,
authoring of technical specifications, and resolution of anomalies found by the
Verification & Validation testing team.



·
Assists with technical support of servo
motion customers in China









EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:






·
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Mechanical Engineering





EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:






·
Comprehensive motion drive system knowledge.



·
Power electronics application experience.



·
Understand basic motor principles.



·
Minimum of 3 year experience in DSP/embedded
software development experience of servo products.



·
Minimum of 3 year programming experience in C.



·
Prior experience working with a team on new
product development.



·
Ability to design,
implement, and unit test embedded software through use of tools such as
emulators.



·
Must be able to
clearly document and communicate software designs. Proven use of software design tools and
methodologies.



·
Experience with DSP and embedded processors such
as MIPS and ARM.



·
Must exhibit good interpersonal, verbal and
written communication skills.



·
Must be self-motivated, capable of performing
and making good engineering decisions in a fast-paced, ever-changing
environment.



·
Experience working as part of a self-directed
team is a necessity. Must be able to handle multiple assignments while meeting
planned completion dates with minimal supervision.






PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



·
Prior development experience with factory automation fieldbus
networks, such as industrial Ethernet, SERCOS, etc.



·
Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products.
