Missions:

The responsibility of Senior Metal Engineer is to manage metal material solution for new projects and lead advance & innovation metal materials/process research to contribute Schneider Electric Architecture evolution. The Senior Metal Engineer will work in China R&D Material Team.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide best metal materials/processes solutions for projects including define material/process technical specification, set part quality acceptance criteria, propose quality vs. cost effective materials, and contribute to solve quality issues.

2. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that bring new opportunities for Schneider. Lead techno action to study the feasibility for SE applications.

3. Work with global expert to deliver new technologies research report, technical standards, design guidelines and related technical documents; provide technical training in company

4. Build metal materials analysis competency such as component analysis, failure model analysis

5. Support procurement/SQE team to audit and qualify suppliers, improve suppliers’ capabilities and quality of process.

6. Work with GSC QA team improve product quality and inspection criteria, root cause analysis and facilitate the constant improvement process.

Requirements:

1. Education: PhD, mainly with major in mechanical design/materials. 2~3 years‘ working experience in electric industry is preferred.

2. Strong knowledge of metal materials’ properties, related processing and analytical method.

3. Experience with Metal Finished, surface treatment, welding is a plus. Experience with digital/electrical product is a plus.

4. Excellent English skills in speaking, writing, listening and reading.

5. Familiar with MS Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook

6. Demonstrated problem solving ability

7. Ability to work with cross-function teams and suppliers

8. Able to work independently and demonstrated inherent desire to learn and improve
