Time % Summary of major duties: 50% Channel Planning Cycle · Develop an insights based planning cycle based on brand, shopper, channel, retailer, execution, and financial insights. · Make brand calendar into channel plan and customer plan by region, considering TP, customer needs and local insights · Work as interface to Marketing team, and seek internal alignment and approvals that maximize activity output and execution results · Monitors and review progress of the execution of the activities to consistently improve planning quality · Develop and monitor new product development (NPD) plans. 20% Develop Channel Strategy · Work out Channel strategy which comprehensively embodies Hershey marketing/sales strategy and channel and insights · Closely work with sales and marketing team to develop the channel strategy and make sure the plan are aligned and exceptionable · Leverage insights to build channelized and customized program · Understand channel: Participate in key customer appointments; help coordinate key customer planning meetings 20% Develop channel/in-store success vision and execution standards · Clearly establishes: “where to win” and “how to win” trade, customer and shopper programs that deliver the outcomes required with clear marketing, sales and financial deliverables. · Identify channel/in-store drivers and develop them into visualized golden execution standards · Summarize monthly/quarterly execution focus and then clearly communicate to sales team · Comply with or develop the right measurable at all levels to ensure delivery and visibility of progress in achieving or business goals. 10% Develop/Share Insights · Monitor and understand trends, work closely with shopper insights group, category team and marketing to ensure analysis and insights are available and can be leveraged to ground and support recommendations · Align shopper insights with customer segments to support customer specific initiatives and strategies · Working in close coordination with key customers to provide category and shopper insights to drive category sales via increased number of shoppers, transaction size per purchase and purchase frequency. · Develop and share channel and customer insights with Marketing and Sales .
Education: Bachelor’s degree holder or better. Preference for candidates with business related degrees. Having an engineering degree or an MBA is a plus. He or she must know and understand current trade trends, market conditions and sales enablers through continued education and training. Experience: Minimum of 8 years solid work experience in sales (key account management, distributor management and traditional trade, trade or customer marketing and/or Sales) Must have worked at least in two markets outside his or her home market or has had geographic assignments outside his home state or province [within one country]. Demonstrated ability in key functional tasks and a clear progression or expansion in terms of areas of responsibility or increase in business size and complexity. Understanding of Marketing strategy and shopper behavior Customer facing and relevant channel experience helpful
