Essential Responsibilities
The IP Operations Specialist provides support to the Global Innovations IP function in one or more areas of specialization:

• IP Operations – work with other members of the Global Innovations IP team to maintain GE Healthcare’s patent database, correspond with outside counsel and global patent agents, generate reports, and develop and maintain efficient IP-related processes;
• Trademarks- work with other members of the Global Innovations IP team and marketing function to secure, monitor, and maintain trademarks;
• Billing – liaise with outside counsel, global patent agents, legal service providers, and other members of the Global Innovations IP team to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and work standards;
• Inventor Remuneration – liaise with the human resources function to develop, modify, and implement global inventor remuneration policies;
Patent drawing preparation; and
• IP Management System – provide business support for GE Healthcare’s IP management System.

The IP Operations Specialist also provides support to other members of the Global Innovations IP team to enable efficient IP operations aligned with GE Healthcare’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities/essential functions may include (may vary depending on area(s) of specialization):

• Devise, document and maintain appropriate administration routines and records for the Global Innovations IP function
• Work with other members of the Global Innovations IP function to increase efficiency, lower costs and minimize risk for all patent formality activities
• Provide reports and statistics when requested
• Educate and recommend process improvements to improve quality in areas of specialization.
• Maintain a patent database and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Liaise between IP Management System provider and GE Healthcare teams to ensure overall operational excellence and continuous system/workflow improvement.
• Triage IP Management System errors reported by the user base to ensure they are resolved timely and provide proper system training as needed.
• Recommend operational improvements based on knowledge of IP workflows that will enhance the IP Management System used by GE Healthcare.
• Support M&A activity in local jurisdiction with items including but not limited to, completing required tasks to ensure name changes, assignment changes and re-assignment of insourced workload at global patent offices.
• Process invoices and maintain IP budgetary records.
• Monitor compliance with budgetary guidelines and work standards
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
• Work cross-functionally across the Global Law & Policy Team and other internal functions
Qualifications/Requirements

2. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable for this dynamic role
3. Exhibit qualities that illustrate a dedication to quality and complete customer satisfaction
4. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be resourceful enough to find solutions on your own
5. Open to fresh graduate, IP-related working experience is a plus

1. Demonstrated ability to work through and detect patterns in large volumes of data
2. Flexible and innovative approach to problem solving
3. Cope well in a pressurized environment
4. Experience of preparing patent drawings
