Mission
- Against a background of rapid market growth, the Healthcare Regional Performance Controller is a critical and challenging role to drive greater transparency and control in the financial management and oversight of the respective Region. The Regional Performance Controller will gain an in-depth knowledge of both the financial and operational processes in the Region and will work closely with the Regional Sector Controller to analyze, monitor, challenge and provide solutions in areas related to order cost control, contractual accuracy, adherence to guidelines and efficient process. The role requires a high calibre, knowledgeable and experienced individual who is able to build effective working relationships across the business and who can reach out beyond the pure finance arena. Furthermore, the role provides an excellent platform for the right individual to gain senior career advancement within the Healthcare Sector.

- Initially no direct reports, but with potential for direct reports to be added later depending on the particular Region development, volumes and complexity

Areas of responsibility/tasks
- Performance Controlling and Finance Advisory
> Understand and challenge the Regional financial performance and position of contracts at order level and cost centre level versus project milestones (for example, delivery and handover) in terms of parameters such as planned vs actual costs, basis of accruals, revenue recognition etc
> Preparation of consolidated data and commentary on the Regional performance covering aspects such as market data, bidding rates etc
> Adopt a leading role in the intervention, investigation and resolution of financial issues in the Region
> Act as a contact window in the Region to SLC Healthcare Performance Controlling (for example, support for audit and controls related topics
Process, Controls and Adherence to Guidelines
> Reinforce adherence with requirements of relevant guidelines in the Region (for example, for Order Income Booking and revenue recognition)
> Support delivery of a robust and effective internal control framework within the Region
> Work with Regional Managers and their teams to ensure consistent/effective policies and processes are in place to ensure high levels of delivery consistency and quality
> Work with Regional Managers and their teams to identify and resolve the root cause(s) of financial/service delivery issues or problems (for example possible causes of Non-Conformance Costs)
Contractual quality review
> Drive quality control measures for consistency between bidding documents and contracts regarding terms and conditions and technical configuration
> Analyze the main reasons for contract amendments in the Region and enforce improvement measures where required
Expense Control
> Support effective expense control and expense management in the Region by setting up proper KPIs and measuring against business volumes
> Work to ensure correct process for expense authorization in the Region through Siemens systems such as Nexus and One SRM
> Enforce effective control and monitoring of expenditure on customer events in the Region
Budget and Forecast
> Assist the Regional Sector Controller to monitor the reasonableness of budget and forecast data
Collaboration and training
> Provide training and information sharing in financial best practice and process to staff in the Region
> Foster strong working relationships with Regional Managers and staff to boost collaboration and knowledge-sharing
Other
> Undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective financial management of the Region
What do I need to qualify for this job?
> At least 5 years experience working in a multinational corporation in a finance and/or controlling orientated role
> Ability to approach issues in a structured and logical manner
> Pro-active in following up topics and driving them to conclusion
> Well-developed presentational and communication skills
> Strong command of both English and Chinese
> Able to co-ordinate cross departments
> Ability to break down topics into essential elements and trends and communicate these messages to management
> Good SAP knowledge
> SoA/internal controls/audit experience is a plus
> Professional accounting qualification is an advantage (eg China CPA, ACCA)
> Educated to at least Batchelor's degree level
