Requirements:
1. Successful negotiating skills.
2. Accomplished and innovative Buyer with proven success in commodity procurement.
3. Strong technical and global knowledge of commodity(s).
4. Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a changing environment with a sense of urgency.
5. Must have the drive and initiative to continuously reduce costs and implement changes.
6. Strong statistical and analytical/comparative abilities.
7. Must exhibit strong problem solving skills with ability to make decisions executing sound judgment
8. Team player with good interpersonal skills and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
9. Good command of English.
10. Working knowledge of computers and proficient with PC software.
11. Able to travel frequently
12. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Job Resopsibilities:
1. Management of vendor base
2. Maintain database accuracy.
3. Manage cost saving goals
4. Participate with Manufacturing, Production Control, Engineering and Quality Control to review quality discrepancies
5. Coordinate organizational demands with vendors; monitor and evaluate vendor performance
6. Control commodity purchase price variances
7. Responsible for ongoing new vendor evaluation and product/supplier change
8. Maintain effective working relationship with customers and suppliers
9. Generate various reports related to assigned commodities.
10. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production Control for issue resolution.
11. Other duties as assigned.
