Job Description: Firmware Engineer

Location: Shanghai

The IT Division R&D group in Shanghai, China, is looking for a highly-motivated firmware engineer to join a team responsible for the development, implementation and validation of firmware for embedded systems.

The firmware development will primarily be focused on data center infrastructure cooling equipment which includes computer room air conditioners, chillers, air economizers, condensers, and ancillary equipment. The hardware platforms include 16-bit single-core and 32-bit multi-core processors running C within a real-time operating system.

Occasional travel may be required.

The candidate should meet the following requirements:

· Excellent C programming language skills

· Experience with RTOS (uCOS-III) in an embedded environment

· Experience writing hardware drivers

· Experience with bootloaders

· Excellent ability to verify, validate and debug C code on embedded hardware platforms

· Ability to develop and write software specifications

· Be familiar with MAKEFILE build

· Creative problem-solving skills and diagnostic abilities

· Ability to work within a team development environment consisting of international and intercultural team members having a results oriented mindset

Experience in the following areas would be a plus:

· Hierarchical state machine design (visualSTATE, etc.)

· Object oriented programming methods and objectives

· Source control and configuration management (SVN)

· Web development using HTML, JavaScript, Angular JS

· Networking TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SNMP, Modbus, CAN, BACnet

· Carel PLC programming experience a plus

Qualifications:

· Engineering degree (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent)

· Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded development.

· Good English verbal and written skills

· Working experience in HVAC industry a plus.

· Working experience in precision cooling industry a plus
