MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work on development projects according to the agreed project plans in cooperation with other relevant departments and Autoneum global experts in order to fulfill the specification needed.

Define and develop new material products and systems that integrate and optimize mechanical functions for aerodynamic, acoustic and thermal management performance along with weight, cost quality and ease of assembly in vehicles.

Ensure that all definition and monitor of the development process and the detailed product description.

Support to define the process parameters and implement the necessary testing steps to get the production release from either OEM or the direct customers.

Work within OEMs to identify hierarchies; establish and maintain relationships with decision makers within varying levels of departments such as Engineering, Development, Acoustics, Purchasing, Design, Materials, etc.

Work with Autoneum Material Development Engineering, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure thorough planning and execution of program relevant simulation and validation test activities related to new material products at Autoneum and / or customer laboratories.

Define conditions for trials of new materials in cooperation with the purchasing departments and the R&T experts.

Create the PPS for raw materials/ semi-finished parts/ finished products for relative department.

Prepare material and product specification, production concept. Manage (upload / download / update) the material related documents in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.

Develop design robustness & reliability error state maps.

Develop preliminary listings of potential special characteristics (component/ process).

Define uniform formulation construction and uniform raw material type.

Support of the purchasing department by technical acquisition.

Support the Product Development, Project and Quality department in solving quality problems and customer complaints. With the responsibility of raw material localization and new material development.

With the responsibility of VOC and Odor improvement, etc technical topic Lead new innovation / technology roll-outs as required within Autoneum Work directly with Global Material and Product Management to establish a clear global understanding of market trends and technologies related to new products, materials and technology.

Other material development related work from the line manager.

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the material development and testing of automotive components manufactured from engineered fiber / textile materials. Experience in nonwoven engineer and / or acoustics is an advantage. Material development experience within an automotive tier 1 supplier with an understanding of the limitations of materials and processes. Experienced at reviewing and analyzing material test data and providing feedback and action plans for improvements. Communicates regularly with suppliers and OEM. Works with design / product teams to achieve cross functional objectives and defines counter measures to solve issues within the performance constraints of the product offering. Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams that work across functions as well as OEM/Supplier boundaries.

Must be: Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to develop and communicate clear plans of action. Excellent people skills and ability to build deep, trusting relationships. Comfortable speaking and presenting at all levels of an organization. Comfortable and effective challenging and motivating people to perform. Must be an excellent problem solver. Must be proficient in PC and office productivity software (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc.) Must be willing to travel and communicate. Basic written and verbal English communication skill is required. Travel regularly within China. Travel internationally if required (Europe and N. America). Must be prepared to communicate with colleagues globally outside of regular working hours.

Bachelor degree or above majored in material / chemistry or other relevant discipline. Quick learning ability and team spirit.
