Role Summary
System Administration on Solaris, AIX and Linux
Required Skills and Abilities
· Experience on replacing broken disks and other hardware part in Solaris, AIX and Linux operating system
· Installation, removal and related troubleshooting experience on Solaris, AIX and Linux Patch and package/RPM management.
· Ability to understand and fix Korn, bash and perl scripts of daily BAU use.
· Ability attach, detach and remove disks using Solstice Disk Suit ,ODS, SVM or VERITAS Volume Manager
· Understanding of client side authentication services like LDAP/KDC.
· Experience on attending Hardware/OS event alerts (Tivoli etc) and taking action accordingly
· Knowledge of Unix virtualization on Solaris and AIX platform. LDOM/Zone administration on Solaris and LPAR and HMC on AIX.
· IBM P series frame management
· Knowledge of adding/removing SAN/NAS space to production systems
· Ability to restore entire system/files from backup preferably EMC networker
· Experience on maintaining and updating BAU documents and process.
Position Responsibilities
· Provide expertise around server support - responsible for technical implementation and day-to-day operation of systems
· May participate in projects related to BAU support, execute plans, or provide status to project manager
· Adhere to all firm-mandated controls and compliance initiatives
· Communication with Global teams - Issue escalation and requests to global Engineering or Deployment team
· Monitoring and capacity planning reporting.
· Assisting with Maintenance of support documents and creation of new processes for BAU improvement.
· Systems security tools exception report and management tracking.
· Communications with business units via the appropriate channels provided by CSJ, for maintenance, scheduled outages or outage like situations.
· Support operating systems, including those hosting in house or 3rd party applications
· Perform Business as Usual Tasks involving trouble shooting and monitoring
· Preparing and maintaining KPI, capacity weekly reports.
· Working on Ticketing and other BAU requests system
· Hardware replacement and co-ordination with vendors.
Desired Level of Qualification
· Sun Certified System Administrator on Solaris 2.10 or Latest
· 5 Years working experience on Solaris, Aix and Linux
· Communication in spoken and written English, Japanese will be an addition
· Engineering/Computer Science Graduate or Equivalent
