Job Title: CEAST Specialist
Base: Shanghai
Report to: Instron China Marketing and Business Development Director
Remark: Salary needs negotiation
Job Summary:
The CEAST Specialist requires industry insight, analytical skills, product knowledge and outstanding selling, communication and presentation skills to drive and support sales engineers to win orders for Instron products from prospects and customers. They should continually evaluate and improve their own skills and knowledge to sell and also to guide Instron in the profitable development of new markets, products and services.
Key Success Factors:
Quick learning of product and application knowledge.
Selling to new & existing customers by managing lead generation & prospecting in identified market areas, analyzing prospects business requirements, presenting proposed business solutions, demonstrating & presenting Instron products, generating personalized proposals, quotations & negotiating contracts
Achieve growth & excellence in all areas of business performance
Ability to manage and support the sales of high value solutions effectively to customers covering key issues such as:
Communicating to the sales team and the “Top Management”
Quantifying the “benefits” where possible
Preparing & being knowledgeable about the customer & situation
Positioning the company & sales engineer appropriately
Looking for and widening the “gap” of solution differentiation
Reducing the customer risk
Planning the sales strategy & tactics
Closing customer orders
Using strategic vision plans & executes sales campaigns into new markets & accounts & takes responsibility for developing & executing account plans for existing markets & customers
Ability to recognize strengths in oneself & colleagues & build on these to improve performance
Ability to increase personal impact and effectiveness through management of oneself, surroundings & other people.
Customer driven to ensure proposals, products & services are delivered to high standards of customer acceptance, timeliness & accuracy.
Goal driven to exceed ambitious targets for sales performance.
Collect and analyze competitors information.
Uses business expertise & market knowledge to reinforce Instrons’ position in the marketplace by providing input into the production of literature, new products, product enhancements & optimal workflow by continually integrating new business & market requirements.

Skills, Knowledge&Abilities:
- Presentation skills: Is an accomplished speaker/presenter capable of instilling excitement & enthusiasm; can clearly explain complex topics
- Business Knowledge: Has a broad and deep understanding of our products & how our customers intend to use them
Strong understanding/empathy with different audience needs, target markets & cultures
Organizational Skills: Can coordinate & juggle many projects simultaneously
Analysis: Can quickly evaluate situations & complex relationships (technical or human) even with limited knowledge, is comfortable dealing in concepts and broad-brush solutions to evaluate alternative solutions
Understanding that the END RESULT is paramount
Requires at least bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline. Master or Ph.D. degree will be a Plus
- Fluent in both Chinese and English (speaking and writing)

Special Requirements:
- Ability to travel frequently within China and Hong Kong/Macau whenever required
Ability to travel to Instron facilities in the UK, the USA, etc. for training and business meetings as necessary
Ability to juggle multiple jobs and to switch priorities as needed
Ability to accept input and feedback from others
