A global Luxury group, Kering manages the development of a series of renowned Maisons in Fashion, Leather Goods, Jewelry and Watches: Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, Dodo, Qeelin, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, as well as Kering Eyewear. Your opportunity
Already one of the leaders in the luxury sector, Kering has been experimenting, over the past years, excellent performance due to a modern vision for luxury putting creativity and entrepreneurship at the center of its model.
To go even further, Kering has the ambition to take the lead in anticipating how technologies will disrupt the traditional luxury value chain and to that end, has created, early 2018, a Direction of Innovation Worldwide reporting to Kering Chief Client and Data Officer, member of Kering Executive Committee.
In order to complete its mission, Kering WW Direction of Innovation is recruiting an APAC Innovation Director to leverage China/Asia technological breakthrough and disruptive consumption behaviors to drive business impact in close collaboration with Kering luxury Houses (in particular, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, YSL, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen). Technologies of particular interest include AI/Data science, IOT/Sensors, Blockchain, Voice commerce, Image recognition, Augmented/Mixed/Virtual reality.
How you will contribute
Build proof-of-concept (POC) in close collaboration with Kering Luxury Houses
- Surface brands / customer pain points and decide, together with the brands, on innovation POC to be launched to improve the value delivered to our customers
- Lead prototyping & iterate through frequent launches with time-to-market & business benefit as an imperative
- Once POC developed, track KPIs (sales and customer experience). Present results to Kering Innovation Advisory Board (composed of Kering Chairman and CEO together with 5 Executive Committee Members and external thought leaders) and recommend roll-out roadmap
- Drive adoption of successful pilots
- Find next ideas by continuously monitoring competitive environment, new technologies (including adjacent sectors outside of luxury/fashion) and customers/users’ pain points
Strengthen Keringconnection with Asia innovation ecosystem (China as a priority)
- Scout innovation trends and market disruptions (start-up scouting, conferences, best practice sharing with other corporations etc.) to define strategic innovation priorities
- Build partnership with BATX / Universities / VC to support ideation and POC
Diffuseinnovation culture
- Organize innovation workshops & idea crowdsourcing initiatives (logistics, content and follow-up)
- Have 360° view of innovation ideas and projects and orchestrate best-practice sharing / collaboration across brands
- Animate APAC innovation explorers community
Who you are
- Education: Bac+5 Master or equivalent. Preferably engineering background.
- 8-10 of experience in total including 5-7 years of experience in BATX / VC and 3 to 5 years in digital / start-up ecosystem
- Chinese speaking. English fluent. French or Italian a plus
- Knowledge of Retail or Fashion. Luxury a plus
- Passionate about new technologies. Strong connection to China innovation / tech ecosystem
- Master of sprint methodology / MVP logic. Experience in working cross-functionally with various teams from product concept to end of life (teams include Business development, Retail, Marketing/Communication, IT/Operations, Finance, Legal etc.)
- Strong project managementskills with complex environment mixing various stakeholders (internal and external). Proficiency in multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work with senior top management
- Strong entrepreneurship and autonomy / initiative spirit
- Excellent interpersonal skills: leadership, team spirit, flexibility, agility, audacity, tenacity, influence, easy contact etc.
