Descriptions:

Polycom’s ODM team is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanic Engineer to work on new generation leading edge audio and video end points products in Polycom PCTC ODM team.

In this position, you will work closely with HW/SW/Ops/Marketing teams and suppliers, to guide the suppliers to find/develop the most suitable solutions for ODM programs. You will also ensure that those solutions not only fulfill the requirement but also at the same cost competitive. You need to work closely with Operation team to support supplier’s delivery.

Responsibilities:

1. Guild ODM suppliers to provide mechanical design solutions based on product’s ID/ CMF requirement for ODM products.

2. Work closely with Operation team to ensure supplier’s solutions can meet the cost target.

3. Detail review supplier’s mechanical solutions.

4. According the program master schedule to track ME related issues and work closely with Operation team and suppliers to make sure ship to market on time.

5. Check and ensure supplier’s solution fulfill DFM/DFA requirement.

6. Closely work with Test/Validation team, other relevant teams and suppliers to debug ME related problems.

7. Support suppliers to work with EMS manufacturers

Requirements:

1. A bachelor degree with at least 10 years’ mechanical experience in smart electronic device area, e.g. video cam, headset, IP phone, smart phone, etc.

2. Have good knowledge of various materials, such as, plastic, sheet metal,

3. Rich experience in major material form methods, injection, die casting, etc.

4. Good knowledge of cost factors in ME.

5. Good sense and experience of managing a full product cycle from product definition to ship to market until EOL

6. Rich experience of managing the suppliers

7. Valuable experience in surface treatment process.

8. Fluent in English writing and reading, have meeting with global team in English to discuss projects related topics.

9. Could work under high pressure.

10. Experience in the following technologies is advantage:

- Tooling design experience is plus

- Experience in acoustic product design is plus.

- Have experience to create 2D of cable, package is plus.

- Have the knowledge of motor structure and motor theory is plus.

- Experience in transmission mechanism, gear worm and gear link mechanism is plus

- Camera or video product knowledge

- Familiar with global certification and requirement is plus.
