POSITION SUMMARY
This position will provide strategic sourcing of equipment, materials and services in support of IG plant production and supply-chain distribution requirements across all Asia sub-regions. The category commodities portfolio may include plant equipment & spare parts, plant services, distribution equipment and 3rd party distribution services etc.
The work scope includes supply market analysis, sourcing strategy development, supplier qualification, bid execution, contract development/implementation, supply risk management etc.
The position is responsible for driving new sourcing approaches and strategies to improve cost competitiveness. The incumbent is therefore required to have intimate knowledge of the assigned categories and relevant technologies. The incumbent is also expected to be able to challenge technical specifications and conventional business model with a focus on driving cost reduction initiatives by working closely with internal stakeholders.
The developed sourcing strategies is utilized by production, supply chain operations and sub-region procurement teams to deliver products and services to Air Products customers and business operations. As such, the incumbent is charged with developing, negotiating, implementing and maintaining competitively advantageous supply arrangements as the regional sourcing functional expert.
This position also plays a critical role in supplier relationship management to ensure alignment with business strategies and compliance with all local regulations. The incumbent will typically interface at senior management levels within the supplier’s organization to represent Air Products’ interests.

Principal Accountabilities
1.Developing and leading sourcing campaigns in Asia for the assigned equipment/service categories.
2.Develop, negotiate, implement, and sustain supply agreements consistent with business objectives and supply chain service level objectives.
3.Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers on a regional basis to maximize leverage and minimize risk of supply disruptions.
4.Analyze spend data and market trends to identify and implement cost improvement opportunities.
5.Effectively utilize e-Sourcing tools to launch inquiries and receive supplier’s quotations/proposals
6.Develop bid tabulations and lead sourcing reviews with cross function team
7.Develop and negotiate Regional/Pan China supply agreement to support business execution
8.Lead supplier discovery and development work with operations, supply chain and sub-region procurement teams to meet project and business needs to create or strengthen competitive advantage for the business.
9.Engage with internal stakeholders to drive innovative supplier solutions to maximize value proposition across the supply chain and support continuous improvement.
10.Work closely with Supply Chain & Operations leadership on various outsourcing and in-sourcing initiatives.
11.Manage supplier performance through performance metrics and structured service level reviews; maintain interface at senior levels of supplier’s organization.
12.Ensure that the suppliers comply with the necessary international and domestic regulatory requirements and conform to Air Products’ Code of conduct.
13.Any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
1.This position requires a minimum of Bachelor degree in business or engineering.
2.Minimum of 8 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience with a strong knowledge of Asia region supply markets.
3.Experience working in the manufacturing industry with Multinational Corporation. Familiar with Industry Gas related equipment and services will be an advantage.
4.Knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement work processes.
5.Very strong business acumen, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills are prerequisite.
6.Good strategic thinking. analytical, problem-solving and project management skill
7.Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must.
8.Desire to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment
9.The ability to develop, promote and leverage relationships within the Asia region internal stakeholders will be essential for success. The incumbent must be able to lead cross function team members to achieve desired objectives.
10.The ability to process varied and unique data and work process information and then develop workable strategies to leverage this data into procurement initiatives that benefit affected business units is a critical component of this position’s success.
