Position: Sourcing Manager – Aftermarket Asia
Job Description:
? Develop sourcing strategy in conjunction with Global and local Product Management inputs.
? Seek out and finding new suppliers for sourcing
? Negotiate agreements with the current supply base as well as new / potential suppliers
? Meet with key suppliers as necessary to review quality concerns, delivery, and capacity.
? Responsible for developing long-term partnerships with suppliers, after determining which factories are the most viable for our business.
? Maintain internal contact with staff, managers, and supervisors regarding raw materials and supplies needed to meet schedule.
? Support Manufacturing, Supply Management and Quality functions for the company
? Assist suppliers in advanced quality planning process
? Conduct supplier surveys, assessments, and supplier visits as requested or needed. Cooperate with SDE and Product Manager for the approval of a new supplier.
? Assist the plants in cost reduction initiatives utilizing the product, technical, and supplier knowledge.
? Track supplier development progress
? Direct involvement with quality issues relating to defective material. Attend any site visit with quality on same issues. Cooperate with quality to assure that the suppliers meets the Quality system requirements.
? Maintain a delivery record on approved suppliers.
? Maintain packaging specifications for all customers.
? Responsible for set up the supplier evaluation standard, evaluation key suppliers on a regular basis
? Set up supplier evaluation standard according to specifications defined by the Aftermarket product development engineer and R&D.
? Responsible to assure that the supplier is in compliance with DAYCO General Terms of Purchasing and to create specific long-medium terms contracts when it is necessary to protect quality , prices and service level.
? Abide by all environmental, safety and health rules and regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
? Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in auto industry procurement related positions including supplier development, process improvements, problem solving, cost reductions etc.
? Experience working independently
? Organized and detail orientated
? Excellent communication skills
? Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering a plus
? Metals experience a plus
