Asia Regional Product Manager
Initial Priorities (Specific Tasks)
- Regional fulfilment processes, especially for HGRs served outside of Asia
o Lack of current clear process to supply CIS, Latin America, etc – want a country-by-country process established to supply product from China to the countries. Need the lists from Marco and Julien’s team
o Refer to end of document for additional information (HGR setup)
- Establishment of margin analytics – fully mapping out the price less all costs to serve to each country
- Review of supply footprint in Asia, especially Japan, with output developed to optimize cost to serve
- Establish a coordination process with regional ISC (procurement/logistics/compliance) and sales – forcing people to connect
Daily Responsibilities (including above priorities)
- Establishing business guideposts with functional engagement
o Margin / deal analytics
o Procurement rules (tollers, etc)
o Logistics rules (stocking/warehousing, etc)
- Understand regional capabilities/options for downpackers and blenders. Perform required analysis to assess true cost/benefit in partnership with ISC.
- Work with ISC to identify/support logistics efficiencies. Cost structure break-down and rooting out hidden costs in our cost to serve & business operations
- Maintain connections with procurement to frequently revalidate alternatives of supply
- Understand, communicate and publish product costs on a quarterly basis to ensure that people are working with the most up to date information. Expected to be an extension of the finance team in being able to analyze margins at a high level on demand.
- Regional portfolio review responsibility. Right products/sizes, stocking conditions, highlight margin issues/where losing money. Identify redundant and non-value added products, suggest to scrub from portfolio.
- With ISC, support needs for order fulfilment to other regions – ie shipments of 410A from China to Argentina or India
- First set of hands to address regional business needs
o Catch-all for “who should handle this” type requests
o New product setups
o Support stage gate process via analytics and project mgmt as needed
- Establish database of supplier/toller contracts with summary of key points / dates
HGR supply setup - MOS required for products supplied from Asia to HGRs
? Competitiveness / cost to serve setup
o Local person on the ground provides competitive pricing levels
o Supply/chain product mgmt. to establish process to meet needs & assess cost to serve (leverage lessons learned from India setup / Sudhir). Want to keep control of brand/quality.
? Communication of volume forecast & orders
o Leadtime required to serve by country/port
o Order fulfilment
o How are fcst/orders communicated/reviewed? Who and how often?
? Countries – need a list of countries that are or would be served by Chinese exports so we can set up processes to support. Ports of import also helpful.
o Marco – Latin America
o Julien - EMEAI

o Asia product mgmt. – Maggie Cao, responsible for managing process overall
o Country-specific – who will be the contacts for Maggie for specific country/customer needs? Marco/Julien need to communicate to Maggie.
