Main Purpose of the Job:
This position supports the existing environment team in China, working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. The role will be to work closely with internal and external clients on all aspects of our environment projects delivering high quality products on time and on budget. This position promotes a culture of ‘Safety First’, and ensures H&S Regulations and internal policies are adhered to in day-to-day work; working in a safe manner and challenging co-workers, including non ARCADIS staff, if actions appear unsafe.

On the job technical training will be provided but experienced-level knowledge of key technical services (such as environmental health & safety regulations, contaminated land, remediation, environmental science, waste water treatment, etc) will be an advantage.

Lead support regarding the development of proposals, reporting, and client interaction with the guidance from Senior, Principal, and Directors as required. Job Description (Key Responsibilities):

- Gaining experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures. This will include keeping up to date with relevant Environmental Legislation, Policy and Guidance etc;
- Becoming familiar with Arcadis’ safety procedures to promote a culture of Safety First and ensuring H&S issues are adhered to in your day to day role;
- Analysing data effectively and undertaking desk-based studies and site visits and site-based works, when required;
- Phase I and Phase II Assessments; including undertaking site investigations, soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling and in situ testing;
- Completing project documents to the high standard Arcadis requires in accordance with project timescales and budget, client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice and supporting senior colleagues as and when required.
- Serving as a mentor to junior resources and being the key lead field resource。

Job Requirements & Person Specification：

- Good knowledge of Contaminated Land Risk Assessment and Remediation
- Willing to travel (~35%) in China and aboard, and to undertake site-based work
- Experience in soil, water or gas sampling
- Strong knowledge of China Environmental Legislation
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Assessment (Phase II) in the China.
- > 4 years but < 7 years work experience in Environmental Consultancy
- Led Phase I/II projects in the field and associated reporting
- Participates in EH&S audit programs
- Knowledge of remediation design and wastewater treatment processes
- Bachelor degree in an Environmental Science or Water Supply & Drainage (or similar subject)
- Advanced computer skills

Desirable
- Masters degree in an Environmental Science or Water Supply & Drainage (or similar subject).
