Leading new technology development for water filtration business, leading and exploring emerging application& technology for existing and new products, collaborating with other team members to create technology roadmaps and conduct research in support of those roadmaps.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan and execute feasibility assessments of technology in coordination with Program Management and Product Development
2. Provide a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape
3. Identify and recommend technology for development,
4. Complete technology assessments of new and emerging technologies through research and proof of concept execution
5. Product technical requirements translated into product specifications
6. Document invention and contribute to the development and assessment of intellectual property
7. Budget, plan and communicate progress toward technological advances
8. Collaborating new technology roadmap development and execution
9. Identify and monitor relevant industry, research institutes, trade associations and standards committee activities, for insight into product development opportunities and pertinent technological developments.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
1. Reports to Associate Engineering Director – Water Filtration
2. As assigned, directs the activities of associates and subordinates required for the completion of objectives.
Organization Relationships:
1. As assigned, has frequent contact with program management, new product development, lab, Marketing, Sourcing, Quality, legal and Manufacturing groups in relation to the new product and technology development
2. Interact and collaborate with local and global advanced technology development team
External Business Relationships:
1. Create and maintain relationship with related domestic and foreign technology experts or research institutes
2. Contact with lawyers and consultants on IP related issues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. PHD degree in relevant engineering degree(filtration material or process related field preferred)
2. 5 years plus water filtration and treatment new technology or product development work experiences
3. Knowledge of regulatory and standards about drink water and filtration devices preferred
4. Strong analytical skills including statistical analysis
5. Business awareness of competitive technology and the ability to assess technological vulnerabilities
6. Competence in identifying and working with lead academic collaborators to grow core technology
7. Strong team player with the ability to communicate at multiple levels both internal and external
8. Must have demonstrated creativity and success at technology development
9. Must have demonstrated technical project management leadership skills
10. Proficient in the use of MS Word ,Excel, Powerpoint and Project
11. Verbal and written English and Chinese Ability
