Purpose:

To achieve Leica sales and profitability goals by offering a value-added service to end-user that provides workflow consulting services and lean principles to optimize customer laboratories performance. Drive change in anatomic pathology and Immunohistochemistry laboratories utilizing Lean principles, information management, and hardware/software solutions. The solution for such change, efficiency gains and waste elimination is the Leica Biosystems product offering.

Area of Responsibilities:

? Achieve monthly, quarterly, annual unit and revenue goals for the Division. Track KPI to measure revenue generated through Lean Consulting Services.
? Analyze new and existing customer laboratory organizations and workflow practices and recommend short and long-term improvements.
? Analyze and report market trends and innovative competitive activities for Lean Services .
? Utilize Danaher Business System tools such as Value Stream Mapping, TPI, Standard Work, 5 S, kanban etc. to credibly recommend changes to lab practices to eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve quality and turnaround times. Obtain and maintain MBB at least for VSM Kaizen tool.
? Working in conjunction with local sales representatives, Area Sales Managers and Directors of Sales plan and schedule face-to-face account calls to current and potential end-users. Train Sales force on basic lean principles for them to help market lean service and be able to follow-up with customers.
? In conjunction with Sales and Marketing, identify and develop key accounts in the territory. In conjunction with Director of Corporate Accounts, manage national accounts within territory requiring corporate coordination to enable closure and compliance of contracts.
? Prepare monthly territory status reports on lean activities to Management Maintain and report monthly on Workflow opportunities and projects.
? Manage operating expenses within assigned budget.
? Maintain technical, product, applications and sales skill knowledge (esp. Bond, Peloris/ASP300, Stainer and IP printer). Maintain current knowledge of competition and market through study of competitive marketing information, competitive literature, and field surveillance of competition.
? Follow up on all lean sales leads received
? Provide suggestions for process or product improvements, new products, and promotion or sales methods.
? Participate in sales meetings and national and local trade shows as appropriate and authorized.
? Conduct workshops, seminars or focus groups at local technical society meetings as appropriate and authorized.
? Promote Leica Biosystems Division as the Histology market leader in quality and innovation.


Person Specification

? BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent
? MBA desirable but not required
? 2-5 years Histology/Pathology laboratory experience in clinical, research or industrial setting desirable but not required
? Understanding of Histology marketplace with strong technical acumen
? 2-5yrs knowledge of Danaher Business Systems,Six Sigma or Lean principles required
? Outstanding problem solving skills.Can manage multiple layers of personnel within customer site
? 1-3 years product management or sales experience in a related discipline desirable but not required
? Strong leadership ability
? Self-motivated
? Ability to comprehend scientific applications/markets
? Good time management
? Interact as a team member
? Strong communications skills
? Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SAP)
? Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing activities
