Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Big Data Analytics (Ref. AD12061)

Qualifications:

Essential: PhD (or very near to completion) in computer science or closely related science and engineering disciplines such as electronic engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematical sciences, and physics; Machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence technologies, mathematical modelling and optimization, computer programming; Projects related to machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence technologies, mathematical modelling and optimization, computer programming; Self-motivation, and work independently; Very strong problem solving abilities, Excellent communication and inter-personal skills; A team player; Fluent in written and spoken English.

Desirable: BSc in computer science or closely related science and engineering disciplines; Master's degree in computer science or closely related science and engineering disciplines; Signal/image processing, multimedia signal processing, computer vision, human computer interaction, and scientific visualization; Projects related to signal/image processing, multimedia signal processing, computer vision, human computer interaction, and scientific visualization.

Salary & Benefits: RMB214,000 - RMB256,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct personal research, disseminate research results in prestigious international journals and conferences, and where appropriate, turn research results into intellectual properties and real-world application systems;
- Supervise junior researchers and PhD students;
- Assist the professor of digital technology in organizing research and training activities in the International Doctoral Training Centre (IDIC);
- Actively seek external research funding and collaboration;
- Interact and collaborate with academics and researchers across campuses within the University of Nottingham;
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade and role of the post holder.
