Job Description

As Application Engineer for the Application Center in Asia, you will be part of our Asian Hub within the Global Projects organisation. We have the responsibility to design & manufacture fixtured nutrunner systems and other such applications such as torque reaction arms and software solutions. Our customers are in China, Korea, Japan and South East Asia. The Application Engineer will be responsible for a territory within areas of China.

This position is responsible for proposal supporting activities for our customers.

The Application Engineer is committed to providing a saleable solution for the customer center/end user and a manageable scope of work to the Proposal team. Through interaction and the application of the Proposal Department Principles, we strive to provide innovative solutions to our customers. We will strive to meet or exceed our goals to deliver sellable solutions, on time, and to a quality standard that gives us high levels of customer Satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

?Technical review of the applications for the request quote with the Customer and Sales team

?Evaluate customer RFQ requirements and customer specifications.

?Use Atlas Copco Application Center best practice for the applications

?Provide Proposal Support

?Work with several layers of customers, sales, and end users.

?Conceptualizes the application and integrate our products where applicable

?Validate that our product offering will meet the RFQ requirement

?Review deviations with the Sales team.

?Evaluates offering and estimates risk. If risk is a concern sets up internal review.

?Ensures local or international standards have been accounted

?Large quote Develop action plans, communications, resources and scheduling to complete tasks on time.

?Participate in multiple projects simultaneously

?Maintain communications with multiple customers

This position reports to the Proposal and Support Manager ACA

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate should have experience in understanding and defining customer needs.

Experience in design and manufacturing of special solutions

Experience in product marketing

Experience of working within an international matrix-organization and adapt easily to different cultures

Education requirements

Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Chinese (Mandarin) and spoken and written English

Knowledge

Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and/or General Industry segments are a plus

Understanding and interest in customer applications

Capability to understand competition and product positioning

Analytical problem solving skills

Ability to question the way we do things in order to find a better way.
