The IOT team will engineer contemporary architecture and services, constructing solutions that remain scalable, adaptable and replicable. Our goal is to provide a foundation for our businesses to innovate faster and drive our competitive advantage. The client software engineer responsibilities will be focused on building a rapid and agile platform while collaborating IOT products to ensure Honeywell deliver fast and reliable.

Develop clients to talk to the Sentience Platform via highly secure and scalable protocols.
Build SDK’s for each device class to ensure rapid product onboarding
Work in an engineering culture that is customer focused
Work as part of the team that makes it possible for many different types of devices to get connected to the Internet.
Play a significant role and make an impact on the company’s success

Communicate with cloud team to understand services requirements for IOT platform & application.
Design and implement data service with clean, efficient RESTful API for client application.

Investigate contemporary IOT connectivity framework embedded inside mobile platforms, for instances Alljoyn, Apple Homekit, or other domestic vendors's smart home & IOT platform.
Prototype necessary demos to demonstrate pros & cons of different framework, helping the team to select appropriate technology under different user scenarios.

Reivew technical designs and solutions for IOT platforms. Understand front end requirements and mechanism to communicate with backend services.Review the deliverables throughout development to ensure quality to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans and standards.

Bachelor's degree or above with Computer Science

3-5 years of experience developing, testing and troubleshooting networking protocols
Good understanding with ACPI and Linux power management.
Experience developing applications and/or drivers on Linux, and with using associated GNU networking libraries such as curl and openssl.
Experience developing Operating Systems and understanding how software runs on hardware
Experience developing software on ARM or similar architecture.
Familiar with developing software for wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Bluetooth.
Understand software engineering processes and how to develop high quality software.
Comfortable with hardware, able to read a hardware datasheet and writing software for it.
Familiar with development tools such as cross-compilation, source revision control (git), bug tracking (jira), and JTAG debuggers.
