General Manager for QUALITY & LEAN
Main reponsibilities
1. Provide leadership to meet departmental/company KPIs; review progress against process and activity plans pertaining to the Quality & Lean Department and advice course direction/ actions.
2. Develop competencies of staff through training/assessment/feedback processes and monitor performance-as part of this conduct Personal Development Reviews.
Identify improvement areas in Quality & Lean, facilitate in creating plans and monitor for improvement.
3. Motivate, provide advice/support and priorities/direction to the Quality & Lean functions and staff.
4. Coordinate / manage inspection resources between different functions (QA/Lean, QC - Supplier Quality Management - Workshop Quality Management).
Coordination and liaise between global FLSmidth group companies at management level regarding Quality & Lean activities in China.
5. Invoice to FLSmidth group companies for Inspection services rendered to them and maintain records.
6. Facilitate payment to Inspection service providers and maintain records.
General employee administration e.g. travel / time keeping / stationary / expense / IT / employee list updates / movements etc.



Education (Qualifications)
preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. within Quality Management or Engineering
Degree with relevant education/courses/experience in Quality Management and Lean / Six Sigma / Continues Improvement tools and techniches.


Language
Masters Chinese & Good command of both oral and written English


Career (Competencies)
The candidate has a fundamental understanding of business processes within an engineering company and an overall insight into how customer satisfaction (i.e. quality) is influenced by functions/disciplines, such as: project management; basic/detailed engineering, procurement, manufacturing, standards and norms etc.

The candidate has:
· Experience in working within large engineering organizations as manager of a larger Quality/Lean organisation (20-50 persons).
· Solid experience with QA/QC/Lean and management of inspection department with up to 30-40 inspectors.
· Preferreable knowledge about the Cement/Minerals industry.
· Past experience and success with major re-organisation within large QA/QC/Lean department
· Experience with management of QC/Inspection function doing Supplier Inspection in a multi cultural environment (China, USA, Europe, India)
