The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to implement and manage the brand protection strategy in China for one of the world’s leading children’s brands, Peppa Pig, through effective communication, industry knowledge and building relationships with both internal and external eOne partners.
Responsibilities:
?Act as initial point of contact – provide effective communication, both verbal and written and build relationships with law enforcement agencies, lawyers, private investigators, retailers and internal teams to protect eOne’s IP in China.
?Support training for law enforcement and customs agencies in China.
?Authenticate products and support Chinese law enforcement agencies to prosecute counterfeiters.
?Support eOne regarding enforcement of its Brand Protection Policy.
?Assist in dealing with routine brand protection enquiries by gathering, evaluating, and reviewing relevant data.
?Support online monitoring programme in Asia for websites, marketplaces, social media, keywords and apps.
?Undertake in-depth investigations, market surveys and raids and prioritise key cases in line with enforcement budget.
?Maintain case management database for all current matters
?Attending various meetings and events on behalf of eOne, including the QBPC, Alibaba, brand owners and miscellaneous brand protection events.
?Liaising with online companies including as Alibaba, JD, WeChat and TenCent to help achieve systemic change among key stakeholders in the industry.
?Assisting with public statements on brand protection successes.
Skills & Qualifications:
?Computer literate, adept in use of MS Office.
?Minimum of six years brand protection experience, preferably in China.
?Knowledge of Intellectual Property law preferred.
?Retail industry experience a benefit.
?Must be fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English. Language skills in Cantonese helpful.
?Must be highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, and confident with a positive outlook.
?Confident communicator, also absolute discretion essential
Please note this role will initially be based at the British Centre in Shanghai and some travel and weekend working will be required.
The job holders will report administratively to CBBC’s office managers in Shanghai, and functionally will report to and be supported by eOne’s line manager in the UK.
