As a Rental Operations Rep you will assist dealers in achieving rental operational excellence for dealerships. By conducting detailed analysis of dealer rental operations and making appropriate recommendations, this position has a direct impact on dealer profitability. This field assignment is to assist dealers in achieving parts and service support and distribution capabilities that positively contributes to the sale of new and used Caterpillar products. This field-based assignment is an introductory position dealing with parts operations and filled by someone with 3 to 5 years previous field experience.

Job Duties/Assignments:
· Apply previous field experience and knowledge of process improvement methodologies to improve dealer profitability.
· Liaise between dealers, customers and other Caterpillar personnel, very familiar with the company’s processes, systems and methodologies.
· Contribute to the identification, analysis and resolution of product support needs and problems in assigned disciple/district.
· Perform complex analysis work, identifies and resolves problems that are less tactical and more strategic in nature.
· Work directly with other Caterpillar units, customers, and possibly, suppliers.
· Manage the completion of work assignments and coordinate work with others. Typical internal customers include employees from two or more work groups in a Division. External customers include two to ten Dealers and their customers.
· Accurately identify problems that may not be obvious.
· Resolve issues using departmental guidelines, from pre-existing solutions.
· Determine the best way to complete job assignments in order to achieve desired results. Work is reviewed after completion, except in the most complex or high impact situations. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, Profitability, etc. This position works to develop innovative processes or methods to best use resources or technology in meeting the quality goals.
· Travel at least 25%.

Required Qualifications:

· A college or university degree or equivalent experience.
· 3-5 years job related experience typically required.
· Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer rental operations.
· Personal computer skills and familiarity with various software packages.
· Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
· Demonstrated ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments and provide direction to lower level reps on project assignments.
