Job Description

As Strategic Purchaser for the Application Center in Asia, you will be part of our Asian Hub within the Global Projects organisation. We have the responsibility to design & manufacture fixtured nutrunner systems and other such applications such as torque reaction arms and software solutions. Our customers are in China, Korea, Japan and South East Asia. You will be part of the Production Control & Purchasing department.

Mission

You have the responsibility in this role to develop our suppliers for the purchase of direct material to ensure best price, delivery and scope in accordance with our project demands.

You will be responsible for:

? Co-ordinating all activities involved with supplier sourcing for production material.

? Developing new suppliers to support existing and new product requirements.

? Working closely with the Engineering departments, ensuring all suppliers are certified to produce for ACA.

? Develop and maintain supplier metrics (Supplier Performance Tracking) for pricing, quality and delivery performance.

? RFQ (request for quotation) preparation. Discuss with suppliers to obtain product and service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.

? RFQ analysis. Review bid proposals and negotiates contract within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

? Discuss defective or unacceptable material or services with appropriate employees and suppliers; determine source of the issue (quality and delivery) and take appropriate action.

? Co-ordinate yearly Supplier Summit meetings-sharing purchasing initiatives.

? Forecasting upcoming demand

This position reports to the Manager Production Control & Purchasing.

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years purchasing experience and a proven track record.

Experience of negotiating at all levels

Experience of working within an international matrix-organization and adapt easily to different cultures

Education requirements

Degree in a business related subject / supply chain management

Fluent (spoken & written) in Chinese (Mandarin) and English

Personality Requirements

High level of drive and an open-minded personality

Customer oriented attitude

Business and result oriented attitude

Able to organise and prioritise work
