Mission

The Proposal Engineer assists the business lines with pre-studies for potential projects. The Proposal Engineer delivers project cost calculation, technical solution description and delivery time feasibility study to the Customer Center Sales Organization In China and other countries in South East Asia (Japan, Thailand, etc). At Project ordered from customer, Proposal engineer hands over the project handling to the Project Team in ACA.

Major responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Carries out project pre-studies from customer specification and provide Business Lines with cost, scope and delivery time.

- Assist Business Line with advice, expertise and experience during pre-study phase.

- Makes sure good solutions are reused.

- Makes sure less good solutions are studied and improved and the lesson is learned how to avoid in the future

- Work with mechanical designer for proposal drawing making,

- Work with purchase to get cost estimation of some nonstandard local commodities for project cost calculation

- Makes customer visits to explain complex technical solutions together with sales

- Join in high priority and complexity bidding and/or quote presentations together with sales

- Makes customer on site visits to collect data that are outside the standard scope of a standard project to support sales

- Involve Project Team early and in a planned way , by his/her own judgment and experience, for smooth transition at Kick-off

Candidate profile

Education

University Degree in Engineering.

Experience

2-4 years experience of Quoting work and customer negotiation, preferably from the automation sector of the industry (Automobile, Heavy truck, Excavator).

Experience of tightening applications is a plus

Some experience of project management.

Experience of sales work in premium brand company is an big advantage.

Skill:

o Capable of reading mechanical deigns, basic understanding of programming, understanding of the theory of fastening

o Has good knowledge about project management, quoting and negotiations.

o Treats people with dignity, empathy and respect; acts with integrity; takes feedback responsibly and positively.

o Drives hard on the right issues, effectively manages Proposal teams performance

o Has capability to communicate with all people, with empathy and diplomacy.

o Excellent negotiations skills and presentation skills

Language:

Fluent Chinese(Mandarin).

Business level English in speaking, understanding and writing. (any other language is a plus)
