POSITION SUMMARY:
The Information Solutions Technical Consultant (ISTC) acts as the main technical resource for RA Information Software sales team to solve prospect’s problems and close orders on complex MES opportunities. The ISTC is the main contact for all technical aspects of an Information Solutions sales pursuit. This includes reviews of prospect’s requirements, answering RFIs and RFQs, proposing solutions based on RA products and services along with complementary products and services, leading technical reviews and conducting product demonstrations. The ISTC acts as the focal point for technical and project information flow to effectively coordinate the combined RA pre-sales resources, product and services groups on behalf of the prospect.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work hand in hand with the Information Solution Sales Executive to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities and pursuits based on Rockwell’s ability to win.
2. Participate in development of sales pursuit strategy by focusing on all technical aspects of the pursuit. Effectively analyze prospect requirements
3. Work proactively with product marketing and product groups to be able to make product and architectural recommendations. Examples would include technical suitability, cost/performance evaluation, technical trends, and migration considerations, proofs of concept, configuration testing, and customer application assistance.
4. Respond to all Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Prepare and conduct prospect-specific technical presentations, architecture and technology discussions.
6. Prepare prospect specific product demonstrations.
7. Evaluate service requirements, and determine as early as possible in the sales process the preferred delivery strategy and plan.
8. Contribute to quoting process and to pricing strategy by determining what Rockwell IS solutions need to be applied to solve the prospects business problems.
REQUIREMENTS
? BS in engineering field or equivalent experience.
? A minimum of seven years related experience with recognized expertise in applying information solutions. Strong application knowledge and demonstrated commercial skills. Experience in manufacturing operations with knowledge of Rockwell solutions preferred.
? Experience in technical sales support or direct sales is required. The candidate should be familiar with customer centric selling or equivalent solutions sales process for selling Software.
? Application experience with Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC), Pharma Suite (FTPS) or CPG Suite with industry experience in discrete industry clients.
? Good understanding of and strong interest in contemporary IT technologies including Internet infrastructure and applications, server-based computing, middleware, .NET, Java.
? Proven technical ability to create new demonstrations and modify existing ones for prospect-specific situations using Rockwell products and complimentary technologies.
? Proven technical presentation and interaction skills.
? Ability to work under time pressure and remain focused in confrontational situations
