Responsibilities
Primary interface with clients and to manage the larger and more complex projects and for large life science clients, having overall responsibility for schedule and deliverables. Compilation of bids and proposals for existing clients and potential new customers by complying to the LQI process and leading the analysis and methodology proposed, portraying SDL in a professional manner maximising the chance of success. Demonstrating advanced communication skills and being able to communicate with senior level client contacts. Having line management responsibilities for project managers ensuring they are working effectively and developing their skills while assisting on projects and also monitoring smaller projects assigned to them. Strong delegation skills to ensure daily project tasks are managed efficiently by Associate Project Managers – processes are clearly defined, escalations are followed up on and client satisfaction is kept to a premium. The development of processes and methodology applied to projects to ensure project success and value added service to clients. Management of variety of project types including doc, help, web, software or multimedia projects, leading and motivating project teams to ensure successful and timely delivery. Development of Project Managers and Associates by mentoring, supervising, training, encouraging and supporting to increase their potential, contribution and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
· Ensuring accurate compilation and approval of estimates and proposals adhering to the LQI sales process
· Production of project schedules using Microsoft Project and thereafter the use of internal tracking sheet to monitor activity and production
· Close monitoring of projects by the comprehensive and effective use of standardised server project folder structure and thorough filling of project assets and documentation, budgets, change orders, resource request forms, handover documents, MDS, Status.xls, status sheets, timely invoicing and payment tracking
· Project planning and the demonstration of risk assessment planning, best process identification implementing best methodology and communication to project teams
· The identification and implementation of ‘value added’ service to clients
· Effective verbal and written communication with client, local offices, freelancers and internal project team members
· Monitoring and mentoring of project managers and associates
· Training and development of new and junior members of team
· Identification of process advancements and identifying potential solution implementations
· Resolution of client and project issues
· Conference call leading with existing clients and for potential new clients
· Elevation point for associates for project and client issues

Desired Skills and Experience
· Degree in either Life Science or a business related area or equivalent work experience
· 5+ years of Life Sciences project management experience
· 5+ years of budget management experience
· Extensive localisation knowledge involving all aspects – Engineering, DTP, translation, testing and translation tools and methods
· Experience growing accounts
· Strong written/verbal business communication and presentation skills
· Customer service experience
· Strong organizational skills
· Ambitious and with a desire to learn and progress
· Analytical and organized problem solving abilities
· Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
· CAT tools
