Title: Architect
Report to: Software Product Manager
Mission:
As a Function Architect:
To ensure a high level of technical knowledge, a comprehensive understanding of the entry requirements and a clear specification of the product function(s) he/she is in charge of.
To lead and follow up the SW/HW/... implementation of his/her function(s) in the product.
As a System Architect:
To create the system architecture of the product and to plan the architecture reviews.
To provide technical leadership to all the Functions Architects, in particular (but not only) for all issues related to architecture.
As a System Requirements Engineer:
To manage Customer Requirements and support System & Function Architects in translating these requirements into technical specifications.
Through the entire development lifecycle, to manage requirements traceability and to ensure that all technical specifications are within the committed scope of the project.
As an Architecture Leader:
As part of a project, leads the Architecture Team and contributes to the overall coordination of the project under the responsibility of the Program Manager.
As part of the Offer Team he contributes to the early definition of the product during the Offer Phase.
Description of the activity:
As a Function Architect:
As part of the project and of the product fonction(s) he/she is in charge of:
- Reviews and ensures a comprehensive understanding of the Customer and MM internal entry Requirements. To do so, interfaces with the requirements providers.
- Writes the System Requirements, ensuring the latter are consistent with and fully covering the agreed upon entry requirements.
- Leads the impact and feasibility analysis of the System Requirements, analysis done in collaboration with the development teams.
- Is involved in the definition and the maintenance of the SW/HW architecture of the product.
- Plans (level 3), leads and monitors the implementation of the function(s) in the product.
- In collaboration with the SW Integrator / HW Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, manages and support possible suppliers from a technical point of view.
- Ensures the reporting towards the Project Team with regards to technical issues and implementation follow-up.
- Assisted by the SW Integrator / HW Engineer / Mechanical Engineer..., leads the defects root cause analysis and correction activities.
As a System Architect:
- Provides governance on System Architecture proposals promoted by the Architectures Solution Manager.
- Ensures the best trade-off between Customer Requirements and components standardization and reuse during the Offer Phase.
- Supports the Architecture Leader for sizing activities, in particular during Offer Phase.
- Supports Project Leaders during reverse engineering analysis in order to identify functional and quality characteristics and cost structure.
- Designs System Architecture and Interface Control through System Requirements analysis and ensures consistency of their allocation to HW, Mechatronics
& SW functions and modules.
- Creates and maintains the High level Feature List of the product.
- Creates and monitors during the development phase the system performance KPIs.
As a System Requirements Engineer:
As part of the project:
- Ensures the interface between the customer and the Architecture Team, providing Customer Requirements documentation to the Team.
- Elicits and clarifies Customer Requirements and manages Interactive Questionnaire.
- Contributes to the identification and analysis of System Requirements.
- Provides the status of requirements development by maintaining a Traceability Matrix to the Customer Requirements.
- Tracks requirements changes and performs Impact Analysis of Change Requests at System level, plans and facilitates CCB and coordinates technical answer to CRs.
- Contributes to the definition of the scope of the deliveries to the customer.
- Verifies System Architecture and Interface Control.
- Plans and monitors the requirements definition tasks and then allocates them to the Function Architects.
As an Architecture Leader:
As part of the project:
- In collaboration with the R&D Manager, sets up, kicks off and manages the Architecture Team (composed of a System Requirements Engineer, a System Architect
and Function Architects).
- Guarantees standard processes deployment and standard tools usage within the Architecture Team.
- Establishes and maintains the time plan for the Architecture Team.
- Establishes and follows up proper indicators in order to monitor and report the activities of the Architecture Team.
- Coordinates System and Software Architecture definition and related specifications.
- Guarantees the Scope Management for the project.
- Follows the process and uses the tools recommended by the Architecture Professional Line.
- Considers quality, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction as main targets throughout the performance of his/her activities.

- Significant professional experience in embedded systems specification / design.
