Job Description?
This position will develop electronic BLDC brushless drives and other various electronic sub systems for cordless electric tools. Sub systems include battery protection circuits, battery chargers, BLDC motor drives, commutation strategies, EMC suppression circuits and ESD protection circuits. Power circuits typically between 300 and 1000W. Responsibilities will include, system design, problems solve, supplier selection and validation, component and system test planning, PFMEA of electric, and product release to production. This position will interface with regional, global engineering and AME.

Principle Responsibilities
1. Troubleshooting and conducting appropriate root cause and failure analysis on prototypes, in order to insure accurate and reliable performance.
2. Evaluate the technical capabilities of sub-system suppliers, specify requirements and engage with supplier to converge on optimal designs and production processes.
3. Product performance verification through testing or other suitable means, including benchmark testing of competitive products.
4. Providing coordination and engineering support for pilot production runs of any new components or assemblies
5. Release of products to production, includes completing necessary documentation.
6. Assist the manufacturing and regional Engineering teams in our manufacturing facility as necessary to support production of the family of products.
7. Prepare for preliminary and critical manufacturing reviews.
8. Support QA to inspection electric parts and improve control plan
Candidate Requirements
1. An Electrical engineering background is required. Experience involving BLDC motor drives and commutation strategies is highly desirable.
2. Experienced in Altium Designer using the schematic and PCB layout tools preferred. Mastery of other schematic and PCB layout software packages acceptable.
3. Must understand switched mode power supply design and power distribution architecture.
4. Familiar with IPC-610 classifications and process standards.
5. Ability to perform tolerance analysis to ensure robust designs for manufacturing.
6. Versed in various design tools related to DFSS: DFMEA, 8-D, DOE, DFM&A, etc.
7. Strong Communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
8. Writes and speaks fluent English
9. Familiar with mechanical area manufacturing knowledge.
