Plant Operations & Leadership
1.Responsible for the overall performance of plant operations with respect to KPIs (Key performance indicators, eg. safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory) and key operations initiatives. Ensures that site meets the performance levels of said KPIs, including the initiation of countermeasures if performance is not meeting goals.
2.Provides daily management of plant operations, including the timely resolution of issues. Reports to this position include various value stream managers and functional support teams. Ensure such direct reports are appropriately managing their applicable functions / value streams, achieving performance goals and resolving issues on a timely basis. Provide timely and consistent coaching, counseling and mentoring to staff/teams as required.
3.Conduct periodic reviews of plant operational performance and provide timely feedback on performance and countermeasures to attain goal levels of performance. Ensure readiness to host site reviews from applicable outside regional and functional leadership and to demonstrate performance levels and cogent actions plans for continuous improvement.
4.Lead development of annual plant operating budget to meet business expectations/needs and expand gross margin of the site. Conduct periodic budget reviews, fully understanding actual vs. standard costs, ensuring that said costs are in-line with operating budget needs and market conditions, and making adjustments to staffing and expenditures to meet financial goals.
5.Ensure a safe, clean and environmentally-friendly work environment. Build community relationships to have the site recognized as a desirable place to work and is recognized as a good “corporate citizen” in the area.
6.Improves, with functional and site support, the New Product Introduction process for products being developed and to be introduced into production, with the objective of on-time and seamless transition into production. Ensure appropriate collaboration model with Engineering to accomplish this.
7.Ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are being met.
8.Actively involved in determining and adjusting the appropriate staffing levels for site, given market conditions and performance expectations. Regularly involved in talent evaluation and development to meet business needs.
9.In conjunction with direct reports, develop actionable individual development plans, focusing on employee progression and succession planning.
Job Requirements
1.At least 10 years of successful manufacturing experience
2.Possess strong and sound operations discipline and convictions; proven success in these areas is a must
3.Proven track record that demonstrates ability to drive results
4.Strong people & operational leadership skills. Unafraid of change / improvement
5.Excellent oral and written communication skills, both in 1-to-1 situations and group settings
6.Ability to prioritize very well and maintain appropriate balance in a fast-paced, heavy-workload environment
7.Sound problem-solving skills in both functional areas of operations and interpersonal relationship management
8.Good oral English.
